Description of 1987 Dodge Shadow |
1987 Shelby CSX (#558 of 750 made) History: This was a Texas car converted in the 90's to a super60 package. Originally built by Pete Dove racing in the 90's. The car was converted to an automatic using an 89 caravan transmission and torque converter. Stored from 1999-2015. Previous owner’s brother broke a piston resulting in new motor in the car. Immediately prior my purchase of the vehicle, FWD Performance installed a good fuel tank, external 255 Walbro fuel pump, replaced the bad s60 cam and sliders with an 89 roller cam set-up, redid the vacuum lines and replaced the super60 PCM with a FWD Performance Stage 5 calibration. The body is in very good condition with no dents or dings. Paint still shows well (although it’s not perfect as this is nearly a 30 year old vehicle). There is one small piece broken on the grill as shown in the pictures. The car has the original Shelby rims. The interior has 89 Shadow front seats and a 90 Sundance rear split seat. I purchased a new complete decal set from Positive Impressions for the car, but have not had it installed. All Shelby items are present except for the small Mobile 1 oil plaque that should be under the hood. All glass is in good condition. The car is very solid, and is a great example of a rust free Texas car. The car has the s60 turbo, s60 wiring harness (1988 electronics), s60 intercooler, Walbro 255 fuel pump, 3 bar map, +40 injectors, billet fuel rail, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, crane ignition, under drive pulleys, 2.5 " exhaust with no cat, Koni shocks and struts, modified oil pan and an HKS blow off valve. Since I purchased it, I have done the following: New carpet, new headliner and replaced the rear seat with a period correct split setup. Replaced the front steering rack, master cylinder, rear track arm, battery, upper and lower radiator hoses, windshield washer reservoir, front motor mount (from Polybushings) and just purchased new tires. I have also had the a/c retrofitted to R134a, reattached the heater and made several other mechanical repairs. I’ve been driving the car back and forth to work for the last year and it has been very reliable. The odometer currently shows approximately 112,900 but will go up as I drive it daily.
