Description of 1970 Dodge Other Pickups

OK Dodge Sweptline fans!! Built between 1961-1971, the "Sweptline" body style is by far the fastest growing collectible in the HOT vintage truck market. And this one is nicer than most and rare. In 1970, Chrysler offered a special "high impact" color called Burnt Orange. This one is the that color and original to the truck. With a few other options including stainless Adventurer trim, power steering, vinyl type roof, special wheel covers and a fabric/vinyl seat. It has just over 94,000 actual miles.
The body is very straight! The truck was re-painted the original color a long time ago. The paint is nice and shiny and looks really good. A few scratches here and there but overall very, very nice body and paint!! A good driver quality paint job and the inner cab and under the hood retain the original 1970 paint. The interior is very good, the fabric insert on the seat is torn as shown. The dash and pad are excellent. The door panels and cool wicker headliner are excellent. The inside of the bed is decent, scratches and a small amount of rust towards the back of the bed. Tailgate is excellent. The stainless trim is all there, the passenger side trim is dented down low but could easily be straightened. The fact that it's even there is HUGE! Ever try to find this trim if it were missing you'd see there is none available! The glass is good, a couple of minor chips but that's about it. OK...it's time to address a rust issue that you need to know about: The FORWARD 1/3 of the cab floor needs to be replaced. There are kits online for around $750 that are made for this truck. The area where the seat is is solid and in good shape. Also, the inner rocker panel needs a little work. The outer is fine, the inner needs repair as seen in the picture. The rest of the floor and frame, including the cab mounts, cab corners and floor look good! Most of these trucks were used and abused, this one has had an easy no salt South Dakota life.
Mechanically the truck starts instantly goes right into gear and shifts great. The engine is not the original 318. A little smoke when first started, I'm assuming valve guide seals. All in all the engine sounds great and is very strong. 3:23 rear end gears the truck cruises good at 70.
Questions? Ive tried to give all the details as I see them. Honestly. Although the truck is NOT perfect, it is probably one of the best surviving non restored 1970 D-100 out there. Call me anytime my name is Tom 402-650-3849
