Description of 1977 Dodge Power Wagon Military |
Please read full description and message any questions! I will do my best to fully describe this truck. If you have any info to correct or provide, I am more than happy to hear it. I bought this truck with plans to drive it and do some light restore work on it but I have too many things going on right now. 1977 Dodge Power Wagon W200 M880 Military fire truck 5/4 ton. It looks to me as if it was a military truck that was then used by a municipality fire dept. Mileage shows 27,800. I believe it to be correct as I don't think this model and year of truck would make the 100K flip and still be in this decent of condition. As well as most military and fire dept trucks I have worked with get used that many miles. I'm not positive on the engine, but most of the ones I have seen had the 318. I didn't see any tags to confirm. Most of you will know by looking at it. This truck also has Tyrone electric clutch hydraulic pump on it. The awesome front bumper is the reservoir. It runs a water pump located under the drivers side front bed corner. They had a water reel there, but not anymore. I didn't try the pump because it was below freezing and didn't want to break anything incase it wasn't drained properly. But it was supposed to be working. I have not seen another set up like this one. Things that I would list as good to very good: Tire, brakes, body lines, frame, glass, exhaust looks newer, drives and stops well! Has a solid pintle hitch as well as a receiver hitch. Things that would be ok or need attention: Just a couple small spots on the body with some rust andunder the doors, oil pressure gauge doen't work, speedometer marker end tip is missing, and I question the floor pans. It looks like there are some extra tin plates there. Not sure if this model got extra reinforcements there or if it was rusted and repaired. It looks like a pro job, so I would think it's supposed to be that way, but not sure. I'm sure there is someone who could provide more info. Also missing gas flap. This thing is built super tough. Rated as 8000 GVW. Just a really cool old truck. This truck will come with a clear title but will be delayed 2-4 weeks as it goes thru my DMV. I live in central WI but have the truck stored in Gaylord, MI. Transport details will need to be worked out before purchasing. Thank you for looking! |
