Description of 1970 Dodge Charger 500 |
You are bidding on a 1970 Dodge charger 500 with a 426 hemi / 727 torqueflight auto. This particular charger 500 started life off as a one owner 50k original mile perfect cream puff with no accidents, Stories or rust along with its original fender tag and build sheet. The charger has undergone the most unbelievable meticulous 150k plus concourse restorationto commemorate the one of the few built hemi charger 500's for 1970 . On a scale of 1 to 10 this charger rates in as 9.95 in every way including the way it runs, idle's, Drives, Stops, Handles and tracks... its dead on. Absolutely no imperfections in paint, Body, Fitment, Trim, Chrome, etc. Has under 150 miles since completed..brand new show stopper!!!! The hemi that was used in this build is the newest version mopar peformanance 426 crate engine that uses the world/mopar block and edelbrock /mopar heads. This set up was the best engine dodge has ever got the 426 hemi to be in 50 years, Topped off with full date coded original factory NOS parts like, Dual carbs, Intake, Exhaust manifolds, Air cleaner base, lid,etc...Roughly 15k in factory NOS parts has been thrown at a 17k mopar crate engine for a total of $32,000 spent just on this engine alone. Food for thought so that all of you folks are aware.... There are not any hemi crate motors being built or cast today...yes not even blocks...you simply cannot get a brand new cast iron hemi block today nor any wedge, small block or magnum stuff...everything has been wiped clean off shelf's and discontinued for good!!! Fiat has no intentions on making engines for the antique side of mopars or racing....so what does this mean for our hobby....well you all have seen original hemi engines not cars....engines listed here recently for 35k to 115k...new blocks are fetching 6-10k as they have not been produced for last 2 plus years and they will continue to rise along with the hemi cars and clones. So in conclusion hemi engines are finely extinct and gone once again....you will never have this opportunity again 1968-70 chargers are now some of if not the most valuable and sought after cars in the muscle market place and continue to lead the pack for the best looking and most charismatic of any muscle car built. This charger was just appraised and it is insured for $150,000.00......This particular show stopper is going to be offered at a real no reserve auction and the highest bidder will win!!!! Good luck everybody and bid to win!!!!! for more information you can call me with any questions ...im super friendly:) 630-615-8976 mike |
