Found this truck sometime in the 1990's. It was in great shape compared to other trucks in New Jersey that tend to be rusted out. There is some surface rust but it has good tin with a solid cab, front corner has normal rust areas. The rear stake pockets were beat up so someone had angel iron welded to them. Not a great job, needs to be replaced. The bed is decent. The last owner replaced wood in the bed with 1/4 inch diamond plate and did a nice job. The bed sits on top of frame because he never bolted it down. The frame is the best one I have seen in a long time, just basic surface rust. Cross members are good. I started to por 15 the front of the frame where the engine was out. The original engine was seized. The guy I bought the truck from said it had a cracked block. A friend of mine had a 1965 WM-300 NJ Forest Service Truck with 32,0000 miles, or so it said on the odometer. He was doing a engine swap with a small cummins and didn't need the 251 engine. I drove his truck around, didn't knock or smoke. I noticed rear main was leaking which is common so I degreased it, dropped the pan, and checked the bearings. When I checked the main and connecting bearings, everything was where is was supposed to be. Timing chain was great. The timing cover was resealed as was the rear main and oil pan gaskets. I painted it with incorrect mopar red but did prime it first. I had left a cracked exhaust manifold on which was a bitch to get off and left 4 broken studs in the block. Extracted the four out and chased them too. Was going to remove the rest of the studs and replace with new set from Vintage Power Wagon which I am including in the auction. The exhaust intake manifold from the original motor was in one piece. They are included in auction. It has a new clutch and pressure plate, pilot bearing and throw out bearing. Also, the fly wheel was resurfaced and it was mounted. It also has a new front motor mount from VPW. It will need some parts, the winch is there but not bumper ends or brackets. It will need a complete wire harness. The original was chopped up and telephone wire was incorporated. I am including pictures of all parts that come with the truck. (Turns out I could only include 24 pictures on the auction.) Windshield Frame will need work on one corner. Otherwise in pretty good shape. Rear fenders were repaired, bottom ends, but still need some work. Tail gate is pretty good but will also need some work. I am including the Title but as the Seller signed as Buyer, it is considered spoiled. (Additional pictures available.)
