Description of 1979 Dodge Other |
Super Retro 1979 Dodge Van 200 Camper Daily driver, 318 2bbl, 727 torqueflite, new exhaust, nice tires, recent brakes Very nice, only rust is on the driver's side drip rail Quarters, rockers, fenders, frame 100% rust free NO CANCER If you are considering spending an inflated amount of money on a Westfalia you should take a look at this van. It will tow a broke down Westy over the continental divide passing other struggling VWs up the hill. Westfalias are a ridiculously underpowered, unsafe, undependable, no weight over the front, your feet ARE the crumple zone. The doors feel like cardboard when you shut them, the parts are HARD TO FIND, mechanics are HARD TO FIND, anyone who says working on an air-cooled VW is easier than other engines OBVIOUSLY HAS NOT WORKED ON ONE. By comparison this van has MORE ROOM, MORE POWER, MORE DEPENDABLE, MORE EQUIPTMENT, PARTS AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE AND CHEAP! In the unlikely chance this van leaves you stranded your road to recovery will be much easier with a domestic vehicle with parts readily available at every parts store in the country. I have been dealing with classic cars for over 15 years and I understand how rare it is for something like this to be so rust free. Rust repairs = money pit. Instead you can focus your $ on solar panels, battery bank, other upgrades if you like Approximately 110k, still being driven Drives nicely down the road, no clunks or strange road noises Camper conversion includes air conditioning, heater, stove, toilet, sink Tons of storage above drivers seat, perfect gear loft. Doesn't come with the quilt, sorry folks! I have driven this vehicle between Colorado and Arkansas and around the general middle of the country with zero problems. There are some minor issues that need to be addressed Wiper arms are missing, motor and switch still intact I never used the camper equipment except for the AC. May need some knowledge on campers to get everything functional but was told everything worked when I purchased. Previous owner fixed it up for him and his wife to travel in and he was an extremely friendly and honest seller, I would imagine everything is as he said power steering pump is whining a bit heater core in tact, needs either new fan or switch small body damage around rear tail light, see pic headlight relay is going out, I will likely have it fixed for the next owner but as is it needs addressed passenger side has minor body damage, scrapes from rear door to the quarter rearview mirror missing Puffs a bit of smoke on startup, doesn't use much oil or smoke driving down the road. Typical valve seals for an older vehicle, can rebuild the heads to make perfect or drive as is Despite these minor issues this van is SUPER SOLID and a great place to start a build. I hope it goes to someone who can appreciate its amazing rust free condition and unique retro styling Call 316 640 0282 for any questions |
