Description of 1974 Dodge Dart Swinger Edition |
Beautiful Dodge Dart with factory AC, original AM Chrysler Solid Sate radio-one family owned original Mopar vehicle. In 1974 it was purchased by the mother at the age of 36. Her kids had kids and she sold it to her grandson 17 years ago. I got it from the grandson who just drove it 120 miles from Vernal, Utah to Heber located just outside of Salt Lake City, UT. It has always been a Utah car, and is solid. The rear quarter panels will need some TLC (please see pictures), and the front left corner has a gentle bump which can be popped out (was done while mom parked it in the garage at slow speed). Other than that, she is straight and clean with the original solid green paint. The vinyl roof will need replaced, however as seen in the pictures the roof itself is in great shape. Most of the chrome is there, original paint throughout, original seats-rear seat very nice, drivers seat stitching has come undone, seat belts, new spedometer included as well as an original-not aftermarket chrome bumper-even though the original rear bumper looks clean (see pictures). Seats fold the way they should. Passenger door opener needs adjusting from the outside but opens fine from the inside. Both doors close well and tight. Hood and trunk open and close perfectly and I have two sets of the original keys which lock the trunk. Extra parts in the trunk which has the original jack, spare tire with 2 other spare wheels and tires, and vinyl plastic covering which I left in place. Has three spare wheels It even has the original manual that came with the car in 1974! The grandson who is an electrical engineer put in an air ride system but left the original system in tact. He told me he also put in a flame thrower out the exhaust and had the car stored in his garage for the past 17 years, drove it every so often to keep it running well, and gave it regular tune ups (which he did before the 2 hour drive) and didn't hook up those two features. He said it was running rich and the carb would need to be cleaned. It didn't stop him from doing 75 mph up the canyons and hills of Utah. Overall she's a great car that would be easy to fully restore, or drive as is. Clean title in hand and many more detailed pictures, so please ask. |
