Description of 1972 Dodge Other Sportsman

This is my baby. I'm so sad to have to sell this van! I have done everything to make sure this van drives like a dream! It fires up without hesitation, and runs extremely strong!! As far as the drive line and brakes are concerned, this van is BRAND NEW! I have replaced everything, using only the absolute highest quality parts!!! It has brand new brakes all around, brand new 2004r Overdrive Transmission rated for over 700 HP (still under warranty), and a brand new 500+ HP 383 Small Block Chevy Stroker!!
This heavy van has no problems doing 0-60 in 6 seconds, while shifting through the gears smoothly!
To top it all off, with the locking overdrive this transmission has to offer, it drops the rpms down to around 1300 while doing 90+ on the freeway, allowing this van to get around 25 MPG on long highway drives!
Cruising the highway at 90 mph, with a bed, and kitchenette in the back, and still getting over 25 MPG make this van the ultimate vehicle for long road trips!! It even has a 9.5" Screen/DVD/Stereo, with HD input, adding to what making this perfect for camping or traveling!!!
Yes both the stove and the sink still work, and it has an icebox that with one block of ice will keep your drinks ice cold!
I have been working on the van for about 6 years spending every spare penny I have on it!! I can't stress how sad I am to have to let it go, again it's my baby and has been treated so.
I have documented the whole rebuild and you can see the whole project here on my Photobucket.:
The engine was built from the ground up starting with a 1997 Chevy Corvette Small Block, then reassembled using nothing but the best! I have receipts for everything, and I have more than 15k into just the engine... Dart Aluminum Heads, Manley Valves, and everything else is the best Comp Cams has to offer. My goal was to build this engine to last, so I made sure to go overkill with all the components!
The transmission was custom built for me by Monster Transmission, and is built over spec for this engine, and the transmission has an unlimited mileage/3 year warranty on it (Has about a year left on the warrenty). To shift this beast transmission, I hooked it up to a top of the line Winters/Art Carr Shifter.
I just spent over 1,000 dollars on a new set of tires and rims, they're literally brand new, they have less than 500 miles on them.
The whole car has less than 4,000 miles on it, I just didn't drive it that much, I had big plans for road trips, but mostly ended up using it to cruise down PCH on the weekend.
I spent countless hours searching high and low, scouring bone yards/junk yards, looking for original parts that you just can't buy anymore!!
I'm also included are a few parts, that I just haven't had a chance to install yet. I've just been way too busy!
Included in that list of parts is a BRAND NEW in box Venturi Vent, good luck finding another one of them in brand new in box condition!
Again this is my baby, and I hope whoever buys this van, can appreciate it and take care of it like I have!
This has a clean Title, and registration is up to date!
It's a 1972, so there are no smog restrictions in California, and lots of other states, making registration for this vehicle cheap and easy. It also allows you to go as crazy as you want, building up this engine even further, without having to worry about it passing smog to register it!
So I'm listing it as $6,500.00 with NO RESERVE, it kills me to have to do this, but I need money yesterday...
I'm willing to use my AAA to get it 100 miles from my location for free, but the winner of this auction will be responsible for picking up this vehicle or paying for the shipping to wherever they'd like it to go! I will gladly meet up with what ever shipping company you use, and personally help put it onto/into the shipping truck!
Please feel free to contact me with any questions, or if you would like me to take some pictures for you!
Thank you so much for your interest, and happy bidding!!!!
