Description of 1970 Dodge Challenger |
1970 Dodge Challenger Pro Street 383 engine bored out to a 392 engine 11 to 1 compression with ported and polished heads. Double valve springs with hardened valves and seats. Polished Tunnel ram with two Carter AFB carburetors Nitrous oxide plate system with 125 horsepower jets installed. I have higher horsepower jets that go with it. Computer controller for Nitrous 4 core Heavy duty radiator Electronic ignition, New wires and plugs. Transmission 727 TorqueFlite. B&M hole shot converter with manual shift valve body Rear end is a Dodge 8 ¾. Shortened rear axles and rear end. 4 link racing suspension with coil over shocks Rear tires are 33 X 21.5 X 15. These tires are HUGE Car has been back halved and tubbed out. Factory floor was removed behind the front seats all the way to the back bumper and new frame rails from Chassis Engineering professionally installed. Car has a roll cage and sub frame connectors. A fuel cell was installed with 2 fuel pumps. One for the carburetors and one for the Nitrous. The body has lots of subtle modifications. Rear wheel wells have been radiused so the taller tires fit. Trunk lid has been modified to work with a hydraulic lift. It’s a cool feature having a trunk lid that goes up and down by itself. I have most of the parts so that the hood can do the same thing. This was a lot of fun in the car shows. The drive train was painted with the same paint as the main body color but had blue pearl added then clear coated. The body work and paint on this car was professionally done in the late 80’s or early 90’s. This car has always been garaged and it shows. Paint is in excellent condition! I would estimate that over 2000 hours has been spent on this car. Probably much more than that. It was a labor of love. The car is not perfect after all these years but almost for the age. Just look at the reflection in the pictures! Over 70 hours in just color sanding and buffing after car was painted. Paint is smooth! Beautiful custom interior with two toned seats, custom carpet and covered roll bar. A few of the awards include 2nd place for Best Mopar in its class at the 1992 Street Machine Nationals in Springfield Mo. It won a huge trophy at the 35th Annual Darryl Starbird Rod and Custom Show in Wichita Ks in 1992. It’s also won many awards in local shows over the years. I started building the car around 1986. I have enjoyed it over the years but now it’s time for someone else to enjoy it. Starts right up and runs great! Now is your chance to by this beautiful 1970 Pro Street Challenger. Mileage is unknown. I changed the speedometer when the car was built. I am sure it hasn't been driven 2000 miles since built. Just mainly drove to car shows and around town. Title says 115228 but the speedometer reads less than that. There is no stereo or front speakers. You can add what you would like. Nitrous bottle is not mounted but have the brackets. Car needs a few finishing touches. Paint has a few small imperfections. A few small chips and two small stress cracks. One on the drivers side where the qtr pnl meets the roof and one in the passenger door towards the front. In Excellent condition for it's age. I would plan on putting window regulators and new hood hinges on the car. When I built the car those were not available new. I am super picky so just want to make sure you know everything I do.
