Description of 1972 Dodge Dart Swinger Hardtop 2-Door |
Up for sale is a freshly painted 1972 Dodge Dart Swinger. I have owned it for almost 2 years but just moved to the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle (very limited street parking) so don't really have a need for a car anymore unfortunately. If I had a garage to store it I'd definitely keep it around and enjoy weekend drives. I would rather see it on the road driven by someone else as their daily driver as I did until recently. I purchased it from the original owner who kept it in really good shape considering the age. It gets decent mpg since it has a 225 c.i.d./ 110hp 1-bbl slant-6 engine which only has just over 136k miles on it. I have kept up with basic maintenance changing the oil frequently with the necessary additive for this age of vehicle and made sure to keep up with other things like changing out the spark plugs, fuel filter, air filter etc. This Dart just floats on the roadway and the transmission shifts smoothly. It starts right up and idles quietly. Heater blows strong. Radio and front speaker sounds clear. There are original cut outs in the rear to add speakers which I never got around to. The rest of the interior is in decent shape but the front seat is worn and could be reupholstered eventually since there is a pretty big hole in the drivers seat and a few other areas. The headliner is in good shape and hs only a few small tears. Windows are near perfect (front has a few tiny bb sized chips) and roll down easily. Carpet is a little worn. The trunk is a little rusted from when the rear window/vinyl top was leaking. The leak has been completely fixed now. The exterior speaks for itself. Below this description I'll list some of the major repairs done. I have also kept all receipts. New rear shoes, cylinders and drums (front brakes just started to squeak and are a little soft so they will need replacing before fall) New master cylinder and brake flush New Fuel Filter Body work to repair small dents Removal of white vinyl top and repair around rear window due to rust caused by leak New rear window gasket and clips New front window seal New paint (original color) New alternator Recent Oil Change New wiper blades New radiator cap New water pump/belts New 2018 tabs As a bonus, it starred in two films in the Seattle area last year which are still in post production but will keep you updated when released. Please contact me with any questions, want ore pictures or if you would like to schedule to take a look at it. |
