By the time the late 1960s rolled around, the Coronet was bonafide muscle For 1968, the car received updated exterior styling. Gone were the straight lines and sharp edges, replaced by a rounder, more "Coke bottle" look. The Coronet was still offered in a range of body styles, including two- and four-door sedans, a four-door wagon, a two-door hardtop, and a convertible. With a smooth running small block, a sublime green paint job that just screams performance, and enough room for the whole family, this bargain-priced piece of muscle is worth a second look. The interior got a muscle car makeover, too, complements of new vinyl seats front and matching vinyl inserts on the door panels and back seat, so it wasn't a halfway-done. This car looks and feels like one of its more sporting 2-door siblings. Everything else including the instrument panel, which is in excellent condition and identical to other B-body performance machines is there. The back seat is notably massive and makes for comfortable seating for real-sized adults.The giant trunk with a full-sized spare makes this a great candidate for long-distance cruises. When fired up there's no question that this Coronet sounds and feels like the genuine article. The 318 small block runs every bit as smoothly as it should. . The large engine bay leaves plenty of room for service access and we kept it the way the factory would have done it, including the alternator, radiator, and TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic transmission. The front suspension tracks straight and handles well for a vintage sedan and cruises with a low rumble at any speed. It's clean underneath, restored and refinished in gloss black which is always a relief, and it sits right on those flashy polished with black highlights US MAGS wheels..Affordable fun is always in style, and when it pays tribute to some of the greatest cars of the era, it's a home run !
