Description of 1977 Dodge Aspen |
RAREST OF THE RARE MOPAR F BODY. Yes, it could be considered ugly...but yes, it is real. A 1977 Dodge Aspen "California Custom"...or "California Cruiser" ...whichever name you prefer. One of approx. 25 Dodge Aspens (along with 25 Plymouth Volares) that were authorized by Chrysler to be converted for the California market only. These were supposed to "encourage" potential customers to flock to the show room...wonder if it worked? Lol Have you ever seen a car with a factory authorized "Carson" top, fake lake pipes, and a tube grille? You would expect this on a 50 Merc..but not a 77 Dodge that left the dealer this way! 318 2bbl. (not running), 904 automatic, air conditioning. Missing radiator and a few minor parts. Interior trim is all there and good for restoration or patterns. Factory tube grille that would be impossible to find is repairable. Has new Coker tires, but they have been sitting since installed and are weather checked. Body has very little rust..California car obviously...and now in Wyoming. Has dents and scrapes but is real solid. White fabric top is gone as is the back window. (plexiglass would work fine). I realize that even though this is rare, it isn't worth a million. But, is still a piece of Mopar history from an era when there weren't that many "cool" cars being produced. The picture shown of the nice California Custom is of one that exists that is only 3 numbers apart from this one. They are virtual twins and share the same color and their fender tags are nearly identical in options. Do a google search for "Dodge Aspen California Custom" and you will find what little information there is about these unique cars. Only a handful of documented ones left in existence. VEHICLE IS BEING SOLD AS IS, WHERE IS...NO WARRANTY. Has a clear title. It is a restoration project...not running.Shipping is the responsibility of the purchaser, but I will gladly store it for free for up to 6 months as long as it is paid for in full Thank You |
