Description of 1954 Dodge Other Pickups |
1954 C-series Dodge pickup with a modern day drive train and a 5.7 Hemi engine makes this a fun, eye catching daily driver. This project truck has many, many modifications with every inch andcomponent of the truck restored, modified or replaced. The thrill has been in building the truck and now that it's been driven around in the fall and stored for the winter it is time to sell to look toward the next project. Read on for more details. This truck has a 5.7 HEMI witha completely rebuilt drive train and frame from a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 truck. The engine is fuel injected with rebuilt heads. The suspension has been customized for coil-overs in the front and a parallel four link suspension with coil overs in the back. The rear end has been rebuilt, all the brake calipers, rotors, pads and wheel bearings are new as well as all the brake lines and fuel lines. Every inch of the chassis has been gone over and sandblasted and painted. The bed has been customized with a steel frame with ahydraulic cylinder to make it a dump bed. The front body (hoods, fenders and nose) has been customized to make it a tip forward front body feature to fully exposed the engine compartment and the original gull wing hood panels are also functional. A customized rear panel holds the LED brake and directional lights and minimizes the amount the dual exhaust tips stick out from the back. The front directionals are also LED behind the RAM logo built into the nose panel. The customization of the outside body panels are subtle to keep the basic look of the original 1954 Pilot House style truck but withthe stance and closeup viewingto make it obvious this truck is all custom, and all Dodge. The interior has new mechanically adjustable seats, seat belts, window rubbers and all new windows with the exception of the original curved corner windows. The guage cluster is from the 2003 Dodge Ram as well as the heating control panel, radio/CD player and tilt steering wheel. The dash retains the original style glove box and the original cowl vent is functional. The entire interior was coated with a sound deadening spray material prior to final painting. It has the controls for heat and AC but the condensor assembly and compressor have not been installed but these original parts come with the truck if you wish to install them. The truck has taken first place at a local car show in the truck division (among 26 trucks) and with the modern chassis and drive train is intended to be a daily driver if desired.
