Description of 1968 Dodge Dart |
For your consideration is a beautiful 1968 Dodge Dart GTS known as the Blow Dart. New Hellcat engine!!!!!!!! The Blow Dart started life with a very dry body from a western climate that allowed the use of its original body panels and if you know Mopar you know how hard this is to come by. While most people would have been satisfied having an original 1968 GTS, the builders at LexiJ, Inc/ RMR Dreamcars in Hudson could not leave well enough alone. True to their nature, they took the Dart completely apart and down to bare metal to create this incredible pro-touring machine. You may know them from their work on the Mr. Norm's and Hurst Supercars. After a trip to Las Vegas, where the car was voted to be in the top 10 Mopars of the 2016 SEMA show and after it was featured in Mopar Collector's Guide magazine, it was brought back to Florida to receive a heart transplant among other things. The 493 super charged big block went to a new home a brand new Hellcat took its place. While we can't say how many 1968 Darts there are running around with a new Hellcat engine, I'll bet we can say that it's not too many. This one doesn't have to worry about seeing its self going down the road. With the custom Red paint, one off wheels, carbon printed bumpers, electronic gauges Dakota Digital Gauges, American Autowire wiring, stereo system-includes four speaker, amp, and a sub woofer box hidden in the back, Vintage Air, pro-touring suspension and 4L80e over drive transmission, a person can call this a spectacular built Mopar capable of being driven anywhere in comfort and over the top style. The front suspension is a tubular piece from Gerst Suspensions, it utilizes a rack and pinion and coilovers. The rear suspension is a six link version from QA1. There were over 2500 hours put into this build and no detail was left undone. The bottom of the car was detailed in Raptor Coating-a bedliner material. Please take a look at the pictures and build list, I am sure you will agree that this is a fantastic car in every way capable of winning shows, driving the Power Tour or just being enjoyed as a weekend date car. Everyone that sees it comments on the extremely straight panels, deep paint and overall good looks and that is all before the hood is opened.Currently the Blow Dart sits at the Tallahassee Antique Auto Museum in Tallahassee Florida where it is being seen and enjoyed by many.
