Description of 1971 Dodge Charger Super Bee |
1971 Dodge Charger Super Bee. Sold new in Montgomery, Alabama on July 3, 1971 from John Boswell Dodge. I have all the original paper work. Order form, car invoice, warranty form, customer care form, Airtemp statement and Operators Manual. The Broadcast sheet is believed to be in the car. Rear seat has never been removed to confirm. This car was a Dealer Demo car sold with 3836 miles on it. All original paper work and history of work performed on the car goes with the car on the completion of sale. The car has been decoded and verified by Galen Govier as a real Super Bee built at the Lynch Road, MI Plant in 9-70. Paper work goes with the car. Please see photos for more info on production numbers, etc. The car has the original factory Hemi orange paint.The decals were not available when the carwas made, thus. The stripes are painted on not decals. The Blackout Hood treatment is also painted on.The Super Bee Hood decal was installed on the car in 2002. This was a early production car delivered to dealership and had over 600 $ of dealer installed equipment added to the car brining it to a total price of 4504.00 $ Paper work included. I am the 4th owner and have owned the car for 20 years. I will explain the car the best I can and what I've done to it. The Black and Orange Houndstooth Seats are original to the car . Back seats in great shape. Front drivers seat has some wear on it up high from getting in and out but in good condition. Passenger seatin good condition with minor wear on it. The carpet was replaced 22 years ago.Vinyl top is in excellent condition .Paint is the original from the factory which is in very good condition with no fading, peeling.I have added aftermarket radio with cd player along with new speakers to be able to hear music over the custom exhaust . Original am/fm radio is in the car. Mechanical upgrades/ replacement over the years included, Brakes have been rebuilt and installed new master cylinder.New gas tank and straps.Mopar Purple Cam 509/ 284/484. 3400 stall converter, Aluminum intake with 750 Holley double pumper with electric choke, slosh kit,Holley quick change kit, holley spring kit,Holley fuel line, new metering plates, Holley Red electric fuel pump with complete wiring to key with relay. Drive shaft balanced to run 125 mph. Replace Motor mounts and tranny mount, custom pinion snubber with threaded adjustment. Custom 2 1/2 inch exhaust installed by Sharadon performance. New fan clutch,Electronic ignition system. Rims are 15/7 in front and 15/8 in the rear.Has Stainless steel dog dish hubcapswith full size spare tire. Reproduction truck mat covering the original one .Newer blower motor with toggle switch mounted inside to run blower,newer starter and alternator. New Timing chain,cam and lifters, valley pan, valve covers and front cover. The Gull Wing is original, front chin spoiler has been replaced. Rear tail lights housings are black . Not sure if this is a factory installed or dealer installed. They look original. I have not replaced them since I bought the car. I do have a set of silver tail lightsthat go with the car. Also I have the original intake and carb that also goes with the car. Factory Air conditioning. All glass is original to the car with factory tinted windshield. Factory undercoating. Norust anywhereon the car.Thecar has been Dyno tuned by local speed shop after upgrades to car performed.The rear end is factory 8 3/4 with 3-55 gears and posi that has been rebuilt and upgraded, the transmission is original to the car. The engine block is not matching numbers. Engine was replace in early 70's with a 1966 Block. Engine has 10 to 1 compression. The car runs 14.5 to 14.9 seconds in the quarter mile and tops out at around 125 mph going down the highway. Great sounding exhaust. This is an unrestored original paint car that has been kept looking as original as possible but has had mechanical upgrades done to it.Car has won many awards at shows. I've had many people take pictures of this car to use when restoring there car for a reference.Car has been stored in a climate controlled garage for the last 15 years.The car was last appraised in 2001 at a strong # 2 condition.The car is fully functional.
