Description of 1964 Dodge Power Wagon

This truck is a very rare survivor that has been updated with an extremely saught after, professionally installed drivetrain package:

It is a 1964 Dodge W200 power wagon crew cab. This is the 3/4 ton 4x4 model with full floating Dana 60 axles (with rebuilt disc/drum brakes) and standard length bed. There are very very few of these left, in the country, and even fewer in this good condition. All of the original parts and rubber still on the chassis have been rebuilt or replaced. It has good glass all the way around, and the doors all open and close well.

What Makes this truck extraordinary to drive is what is under the hood: The indestructible 5.9 Cummins 6BT turbodiesel. It has a brand new P-pump injection system, lines, and injectors. A modified fuel plate (#0 plate), KDP retainer, all new charging system (battery, alternator, all new wiring.) The engine is estimated to be putting out approximately 350 horsepower and nearly 600 lb. ft. Of torque. This thing really moves, and the truck gets approximately 20-22mpg on the highway.

It has a brand new radiator and air-to-air intercooler for the turbo. The motor is backed by a Dieselpunk Towmaster 47re 4 speed OD automatic transmission and an NP205 transfer case. New driveshafts front and rear. Fuel is supplied by a modified stock tank and an Airdog II fuel system. Tires are brand new BFG KO2 all terrains in 37x12.50 on satin black KMC 17” wheels.

The bulk of the drivetrain was installed by

Beans diesel performance in TN. This truck is incredibly reliable, and incredibly fast. It is a daily driver, and needs nothing at all - it is ready to thrash on or off road.

Here is why the truck is listed at $24,900 instead of 50+ like a legacy: the condition body is around an 8/10 considering the age. Although the bulk of the sheet metal is intact and looks great, the rocker panel (also entry steps) are rusted out. There are also a few SMALL rust holes here and there in the “usual spots” such as quarter panels, the void spaces in the top corners beyond the firewall near where the heater hoses go, and the bed floor is rusted in quite a few spots - it is still very much useable - I haul things in it quite often.

The doors open and close well, but require a little oomph from time to time - sometimes the very cool old-school “refrigerator” handles are finicky.

The interior isn’t the prettiest, but it is functional and comfortable - the cloth seats are from a 90’s Dodge Ram, and there is no headliner. That being said, it is pretty loud in the cab if the windows are up and that 5” straight pipe is blaring under the bed. This is certainly a drivable truck, but it could be made a little more comfortable with some more period-correct seats, a headliner, and a dare I say it.....a muffler.

The frame is in phenomenal shape, the heater blows hot air, and like I said - it is an all around incredible driver - not a show truck. This is a Frankenstein truck. The love child of a 1960’s crew cab and big rig - built to haul and have fun in. It is by far the biggest head-turner I have ever driven. This thing has been given new life with the incredible drivetrain and will make the right owner extremely happy every time they crank that rumbling 6bt up and stomp the pedal - And all for much, much, much less money than a $50,000+ legacy.

Drive it as it is, or put a little bit of time and money into making it yours - the heavy work is done and this thing is ready to play.

I have tried my best to provide an honest description of the condition of this truck and will post a lot of photos with the ad. There is also a video of the truck cranking up and driving linked below. If you would like any more photos of anything specific, let me know. I want whoever buys the truck to have a very accurate picture of what they’re getting. I know whoever that is will really love this thing.

Thanks for looking!

*Note: This is a bill of sale transaction only. I do not have a current title, it is registered via bill of sale in GA. If you are in GA this is a non-issue. Please check your local DMV website to see if you are able to register the truck without the title. I have priced the truck accordingly.
