Description of 1979 Dodge Other Pickups |
1979 Dodge D100 Custom Utiline Short Bed 440ci. Has the True Spirit Package. From the research I've done this was just a decal package. The pinstripes are still on the truck. There was "True Spirit" lettering on the tailgate and fenders that was removed at some point. You can still see a ghost of the letters in the right lighting. Truck was originally had a 318 4bbl with auto. Now has a 440 with 727 auto trans and 8 3/4" rear end. The rear end has 3.55 gears and a Sure Grip. The 727 trans has a manual valve body. Shifts are very firm. The 440 has a Summit cam. Nice and lumpy. Headers to side pipes sounds really good. Holly 750 Carb. The 440 was swapped in by the original owner years ago. Body is original. Original paint and decals. Numerous dings and scuffs on all panels. Paint is fading on roof, hood and rear fenders. Surface rust here and there. Little rust through on the side steps. Floor had a little surface rust I stripped and treated with POR15. No holes anywhere. Door are solid. Frame is clean. Little rust where the batter try was originally. Battery was moved to bed. Bed wood is original and needs to be replaced along with the trim slats. Interior has new carpet and seat upholstery. Original door panels show wear. Dash and glove box aren't cracked. All gauges work. Tach and volt meter added. AM/FM/8 Track does not work. It came with the truck. The plug does not match the factory harness plug. I bench tested the radio and it doesn't work. Truck runs and drives great. Gets a lot of attention and makes a lot of noise. It cruises down the road straight and true. Brakes well and rides well. I wanted one of these for a long time. Looked hard the last couple years and didn't find anything. This summer I've found 3, go figure. I can't keep them all so will be a selling off a couple. This one I got from the second owner who had it since 2002. It originally came out of Washington and has been in NW Montana for 25+ years. Video of the truck: https://youtu.be/ZuRP01Edko0 Truck is sold as-is with no warranty. Deposit required within 24 hours and full payment within 7 days. Truck will remain safe in my shop while you arrange shipping. Edit- Son shot a video as we cruised out of neighborhood tonight. https://youtu.be/wpAVG6P-m-AOn Aug-17-18 at 05:11:38 PDT, seller added the following information: On Oct-18-18 at 07:37:54 PDT, seller added the following information: |
