for sale is a totally original numbers matching 400 C.I. HP 1972 Dodge Charger SE. This Charger SE sat for 20 years before the current (second) owner purchased it from an estate and then went through the entire car electrically and mechanically to make a 'solid' driver. He did not want to change the original and unrestored interior, trunk, and paint.

The color is the factory medium tan metallic and approximately 75% of the paint is original. There is evidence of some body work in the left rear quarter near the door and left front fender (see photos). Otherwise the rust you see is minimal in the rocker panels, rear quarter panels and under the vinyl top. All the body panels are original.

Mechanically new valve seals were installed, a new timing chain and gear set was installed, the oil pan and valve covers were removed and had new gaskets put in place. Carburetor was rebuilt (original Carter unit), new water pump, power steering pump, radiator was flushed, new hoses, belts, total tune-up including cap and wires, and the factory A/C even works.

The stock 3-speed Torque-flight transmission was serviced and the fluid was changed in the 8 ¾ posi-traction 3.23:1 differential. New shocks, gas tank, fuel lines, brakes and hardware, power steering master cylinder. Brakes are the factory disc's up front and drums in the rear.

Electrically every gauge, except the clock, works including the AM/FM radio. The temperature control levers need a new cable, very stiff to move. The 'flip' headlights work as new. All the side marker lights function including the front fender turn signal indicators.

Owner has the original build sheet, window sticker, dealer brochure, and receipts for all the work performed by him and the prior owner.
