Description of 1965 Dodge Coronet 500

New Mexico rust free car restored to a very high standard. Performance built running gear. From a very prominent car collection. EXTERIOR: Stunning. The body, paint and trim are outstanding. Look down the sides, they are arrow straight. Panel gaps are excellent. You can read a dictionary in the reflection of the paint. Has base coat-clear coat finished polished to a high gloss. What really brings it over the top is the trim, its restored to show quality. Professionally restored... grill and headlight bezels, the bumper looks like a mirror. The moldings down the side and along the bottom are straight and polished. All the chrome and stainless around the roof is professionally restored. In back the tail light bezels and trunk panel is professionally restored, the trunk emblem looks new. New door handles. The paint inside the door jambs is slick. The weather stripping, window seals, windshield and gasket has been replaced. The car sits nice on a set of staggered size highly polished Torque Thrust ll wheels with performance Nitto Tires. In front it has17x8 wheels with 245 tires, in back it has 17x9 with 285s. INTERIOR: Restored exceptionally well. New seat cushions which make them feel new and the upholstery fit tight as a drum. Top quality Legendary upholstery. Headliner, visors, door panels, carpet are replaced. The dash pad is mint. Instrument area is very good, not broken or cut. Has original console in nice shape between the bucket seats. Some upgrades include a leather wrap on the wheel, embroidered floor mats and Auto Meter Tachometer and gauges. There are seat belts in front. The owner's manual in the plastic pouch is in the glovebox. MOTOR COMPARTMENT: Beautifully detailed and restored. At the heart of it is a performance built 440 with all the good parts. Specs- Has steel crank, Doug Thorley nickle plated headers. 906, 74cc heads with stainless valves: 2.14 intake, 1.81 exhaust. Crane cam 568/574 lift, Crane 1.6 roller rockers. Forged flat top pistons, 10.5:1 compression. Has roller timing set. The fuel is fed through a 3/8 line using a six pack fuel pump. A Speed Demon 850 carb sits on top a polished Edelbrock ST7 intake. It's sparked with a billet MSD distributor and 6A ignition. It is kept cool with an aluminum water pump, stainless hoses, BeCool aluminum radiator and overflow bottle. It runs strong, has a sweet idle and it's reliable. In other words it's built right. The engine bay is clean metal with a gloss black finish. Perfect backdrop for a motor full of polished aluminum. Has great looking set of finned valve covers and chrome alternator. Has dual reservoir master cylinder and power steering. UNDERSIDE: Rock solid original metal. The frame rails, floors, inner rockers, lower 1/4s all look clean. 3 1/2 inch exhaust with welded mufflers. It's as big as sewer pipe and sounds awesome. Upfront the suspension is all new. Has new disc brakes. In back it has new 3.91 sure grip 8 3/4 rear, Super Stock leaf springs and air shocks. New rear drum brakes. The trans is professionally built- has 3500 stall, shift kit and B&M aluminium finned pan. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Rock solid metal. Has plaid mat and a spare.
