Description of 1971 Dodge Challenger

For auction on ebay is a 1971 Dodge Challenger. This is one of the most solid Challengers you will find for sale! It is a factory 383. Automatic. This is a factory Plum Crazy Purple car with only one repaint. The car has absolutely no rust and even has the original trunk floor. I did replace the original hood with a Rallye hood. This particular car has been gone through quite extensively. This Challenger was completed in the last 3 weeks so everything is clean and ready to go. The car has an extensive list of parts that are new. I will post a TON of information along with plenty of pictures to show exactly what has been done to the vehicle. Every aspect of the car has had some attention. Please read it all and go through all the pictures. as this isn't your average car for sale on ebay. What separates this car from other Challengers for sale is its original rust free body and also the amount of time and effort that has went into this car. As much time was spent on the underneath of the car as the top half. I will go through each section of the car to give you the most accurate description of what has been done. This way you will know exactly what has been done. and I will provide enough pictures to back up what has been described. Please ask any and all questions. I'm happy to answer them. I know even with as much info is on this ad. that I have forgot to mention a lot of parts that has been replaced. Why over spend on a car that may only be half completed with a quick paint job and some interior work? Here's the best part! Its on a NO reserve! That's right. it will start very low and sell to the highest bidder. All that I ask is that you place a bid only for the amount you can afford to pay. When the auction is over the car will sell to the highest bidder. no matter what the price gets to. So once again. only bid what you can pay. The car will sell for fair market value. whatever that may be. Please have all funds in order as once the auction is over. I expect the buyer to follow through with the transaction to avoid any relistings. Body- The exterior of the car has mostly new or rechromed parts. It has new marker lights. rechromed bumpers. wheel lip mouldings. black R/T side stripe. emblems. windshield. trunk trim . nbsp; door handles. pentastar emblem on Right fender. Car was completely disassembled and stripped entirely down. Car now has R/T hood stripe. side scoops. Rear window louvers (the high quality ones. NOT the ABS plastic ones). Rear gull wing with underside brackets. New decals where they were removed were put back on. Rear tail lights repainted the correct R/T style. New Black Vinyl top installed as well. Grille- The grille was repainted the correct R/T style and is in perfect condition. Doesnt have any breaks or cracks that I am aware of. The front headlight bezels have a couple of dings. Very tough to find a nice 71 Challenger grille. Paint- Paint is the original FC7 Plum Crazy Purple. The paint is PPG Basecoat / Clear coat. and was color sanded and buffed. Has a beautiful wet look to the paint. The car is very straight and the body lines are sharp. The paint is in excellent shape and is fresh. with only 50 miles on everything. The car has only 1 repaint on the car and has never been any other color. All of the jams. including trunk and engine bay were also painted to match the outsideWheels- Rallye wheels that have been repainted and new caps installed. Has original trim rings and also has new lug nuts. New white letter tires with less than 50 miles on them. Interior- Interior has all new seat covers. Also has new carpet. dash pad. headliner. package tray and trunk mat. The interior was completely stripped and the dash was restored with a new dash pad. center speaker. and speaker cover. Nice original door panels and gauge cluster. Has original radio still installed . No speakers have been hooked up to the radio. Underside- This is a factory full body undercoat car ( I have pictures before being resprayed). The underside was professionally undercoated after paint with everything removed from car. The underside was completely resprayed and duplicated how it was done originally. The only purple paint showing on the underside is the front frame rails and part of the inner fender aprons. The underside is as clean as it gets. Not a spec of rust or dirt. I would say you could eat off the bottom of this car. but thats pretty ridiculous. It is however. as clean as it gets. Suspension- All new front suspension. New upper and lower ball joints. tie rods. pitman arm. idler arm. strut rod bushings. upper and lower control arm bushings. and front shocks. All suspension parts were cleaned and bead blasted. then painted back to correct colors of the suspension according to how we saw it when the parts were pressure washed. All suspension parts were put back with the factory inspection marks that were on the original parts. Torsion bars. rear end. shocks. springs all got the inspection marks we could find or replicate. Very few cars out there get this attention to detail. Brakes- The brakes are 100% all new. All the backing plates and brake parts were blasted then cleared to keep their natural finish. New brake shoes. hardware. wheel cylinders. master cylinder. and rubber brake hoses. The drums were left cast and they got the replicated green dots on the drums and also the red striping that all "styled" wheels got when they were new. Since this car has rallye wheels . the drums painted red on the outside would be correct. It was done much more haphazzardly from the factory with a bunch of runs. but I didnt replicate that. Electrical- All of the electrical on the car has had attention. It has new tail light wiring harness. engine wiring harness. and front headlight wiring harness. Engine- Has an installed 383 HP Rebuilt motor. Motor has been completely rebuilt back to stock specs. It has been bored . 30 over. Correctly painted Hemi Orange for 1971 HP motors. All accessories on the motor are brand new. Motor has 70lbs of oil pressure and runs great. It has 50 miles on the motor and was correctly broke in. Has new alternator. starter. sensors. belts. hoses. gaskets. power steering pump. spark plugs. wires. distributor. etc. Transmission- Completely rebuilt 727 Automatic transmission with a new torque converter. Driveline- A completely rebuilt driveline with new u joints. new front yoke and speed balanced for a smooth ride on the highway. Rear end- Original 8 3/4 rear end with 3. 23 gears. New fluid change. Misc- New wiper washer bottle with new nozzles/lines and squirters. New voltage regulator. starter relay. ballast resistor. All wires in the correct looms that the factory used. Has bumper jack and spare tire as well. All hardware is new as well. Lots of original bolts were cleaned and polished where applicable. Completely new exhaust into R/T tips out back. Glass- Has new front windshield. Side windows and rear window is original to the car. I've lubricated all moving parts and all windows roll up and down as they should.
