Description of 1971 Dodge Charger SE

If you are interested in bidding on the car and have 15 or less feedback, you need to contact me first. If not, then your bid will be retracted. I amnot up for games that some people play.

Up for sale is my all original except paint,1971 Dodge Charger SE hardtop with only 84,271 miles with no drive train ever being rebuilt. This car is the rare FC-7 Plum crazy original paint color, but was repainted many, many years ago with a brown/maroon type metallic paint. This is why I sanded down the car looking for body-work needed which does show some small creases, scratches and minor dings and dents. I could not find any rust/rot out and appears to be rust free with the original body panels and trunk. NOTE: The brown/maroon paintstill shows on the left/right sides of the trunk area and is not rust.

This vehicle was purchased by the original owner off the showroom floor in Los Angeles and was also built at the LA plant. I'm the second owner.Car still retains the original Calif. plates as well as the dealership license plate frame as well as the fender tag, riveted VIN on top of dash and VIN sticker on drivers door. I haven't looked but I'm sure the build-sheet is tucked away in the rear seat. Trunk area has the factory dress-up kit as well.Only 15,811 were produced and unknown as to how many were made with the 383 Magnum.

The interior has the slapstick console with bucket seats. The car has the drivers side remote mirror, A/C but unknown if working, the blower switch is bad. The original AM radio still works even with a broken aerial which I still have. The front seats need re-upholstering with just the inserts only. Headliner and carpet also need attention. The dash has cracks but I have a new black dash cap to go with car. The door panels, rear seat and rear sail panels are very nice. The tires and rims are new 235/60/15's up front and 255/60's on the rear. The wheels are factory rally's,15X7, but are not original to the car. I have the original 14X6 steel wheels w/hubcaps. All the glass appears to be original with the windshield showing a small chip at the lower center area and does not affect visibility. All the gauges and lights work as do the turn signals, but ismissing thepassenger side signal lense. The vacuum operated headlight windowdoors work fine. The roof had the vinyl canopy but needs replacement. The stainless steel trim piece is still intact. The charger and SE emblems were removed when new paint was applied and never found.

I just had a ton of work done to the car, waytoo much to list but I have the receipts. A new 3-core radiator was added and I still have the original as well as the original keys. All the door locks work including the trunk. All in all, a great foundation to work and finish one of the last real surviving muscle cars of the early 70's. This car runs real stron, shifts well and stops on a dime. The car still needs some restoration and a beauty when finished. I am out of time to complete this project. I've placed a reasonable reserve based on overallsolid un-cut condition. If any questions, e-mail or call me at 408 448-1717 and thanks for your interest. I HAVE OTHER PHOTOS I CAN SEND INDIVIDUALLY. COMPUTER WOULD NOT LET ME DOWNLOAD ANY FURTHER PICS, SORRY.

I accept paypal for a non-refundable deposit of $500.00 and must be received within 24 hrs at the close of auction. Balance can be made with cash in person, a bank check or money order. Winning bidder is responsible for their own cost ofshipping the vehicle.
