Description of 1992 Dodge Grand Caravan |
Handicap equipped and upfitted by Independant Mobility Systems this van is a rare find. ONLY 80. 05 miles. I don't know a lot about handicapped accessible vans so i'll just describe to the best of my ability the differences in this van and a regular one. The third door is power and if you hold the lever (inside) or button (outside) it will either open and lower a wheel chair (or scooter) ramp. or if pressed the other direction. raise the ramp and close the door (see pics. ) It appears the whole floor inside the van has been lowered to accommodate the upfit. The drivers seat will robotically move forward and backward and spin around. There is a lever in the van that says kneel. and i have no idea what this lever does. It does have hand controls that allow you to drive with your hands if you push the lever towards the dash it applies the brake and if you push the lever towards the floor it gives it fuel. Everything seems to work flawlessly and I imagine this vehicle could give someone a great deal of freedom and independance. for a small budget. I have no idea how much a van equipped like this would be new. but I'm sure it would be tens of thousands of dollars. Mechanically this van is sound and runs and drives great. the tires are in very good shape. I would say the two on the front are close to new and the two on the rear are around 65%. It is clean and has some normal wear and tear and not perfect. However. this is a good van that is pleasing to the eye (see pics) and you can tell it has been well maintained and taken care of. It appears that removal of the hand controls wouldn't be to big a deal. so if the purchaser would like them removed we will remove them. like i said above. i don't know the ends and outs of handicap accessible vehicles so please don't hesitate to ask any questions. the manuals are in the van so I can try to answer any question you may have. |
