Description of 1953 Dodge Other Pickups

This is A 1953 Dodge M37 Military truck that I started to build into a rat rod. I have a clean California title for this truck. it is currently in non op so there will be no back fees. It has a highly modified frame from a 1958 or 1959 Chevy pickup. It has a 4 inch lowered straight axle with drum brakes and stock Chevy truck rear end with drum brakes. The front and rear have been converted to 5 lug wheel bolt pattern instead of factory 6. The rear of the frame has axle over spring flip and is C-notched. The truck has a Dodge 318 engine out of an 84 Dodge Van and the transmission is from a 1974 Dodge with a park brake installed at the tail shaft. The engine last ran around 6 years ago the only issue was a bad accelerator pump in the carburetor. The engine is 2 barrel carb with all accessories. power steering pump. alternator. air conditioner compressor and all brackets. The transmission was working when removed around the same time. This is an incomplete project. there is no braking system or wiring system installed. I will throw in the wiring harness that I pulled out of the van if you want it. The steering system consists of a loosely mocked up manual steering gear from a late 70s Chevy truck and a few random pitman arm and drag link parts. All factory steering parts are still on axle and spindles. Nearly all body parts have not been modified from factory. The cab has had the seat base cut out but I still have it and it could easily be welded back in. The bed and bed sills have been removed from the box. these parts have been sold and will not be included with the sale. The removable floor board panels and transmission tunnel are also gone. What you see in the pictures is what you get. This body could easily be used for restoration parts for Dodge M37 and similar military variants. This body could also be removed and placed on a 4x4 frame and turned into rock crawler or mud bogger. This truck is located in southern California and is rust free.
