Description of 1942 Dodge Power Wagon power wagon |
RARE IN THIS CONDITION 1942 Dodge Power Wagon WC21 Round gauges, slanted nose, butterfly hood, rounded grill, rectangle Dodge badges on hood 2 speed rear end Flathead straight 6 cylinder, I believe it's the 230 cubic inch.Unknown mileage on the engine, doesn't smoke and has great oil pressure. When I changed the plugs the old ones had no oil and only some carbon on them. Does not run hot 4 speed manual, 1st is a very low gear so I usually start in 2nd, clutch works as it should and it shifts really well. Black Plates, California Truck, solid, no metal has been replaced or patched, excellent patina. Used around town and for parades. Clean California title, registration is current. Was originally an open cab Military truck, possible Navy (Blue paint underneath the green) Previous owner swapped the open cab with a same year pickup cab (extra gas filler hole behind drivers door). I was planning to fab a second gas tank to utilize this extra filler hole. Original gas tank is still there and in the stock location in the rear. Converted to 12 volt system with alternatorHas electric fuel pump All lights work (Headlights, front fender marker lights with military blackout covers, side cowl lights, single rear light/brake light). Did not come with a turn signal but can easily be added. NEW:- New 3/4 Oak wood bed and hardware, wood has been aged to fit in beautifully with the patina- New glass all the way around- New window gaskets and felt- New PVC molded headliner, door panels, rear panel, kick panels- New and correct gauges; Speedometer, Fuel, Oil, Amps, Temp- New Ball n Ball Carb- New Steering wheel- New steering column bushing- New Horn kit (still needs the actual horn)- New electric wipers- New electric fuel pump- New hood prop rods- New glove box- New battery- New wiring (4 fuses, the simplest wiring I have ever seen) Windows work as they should Front window does pivot out and lock in the open position, the crank mechanism is missing and opens manually. Seat was recovered previous and is excellent condition Brakes were redone about 10 years ago by previous owner and work well for being drums all they way around and a 78 year old truck. Some dings and dents but only surface rust and great patina I was going to swap in a Cummins 4BT engine and trans setup, but this runs so well I couldn't bring myself to do it yet. And now selling since I have too many projects. Buyer is responsible for shipping Email me with any questions. |
