Description of 1971 Dodge Other 340 |
With a name like Demon, it's only fair that this coupe has a dark and sinister look. And beneath the massive hood scoop is a 340 V8 that has been built for serious power with the addition of methanol injection and a turbocharger. And with four-on-the-floor to control it all, it truly makes for a wicked Demon. At first glance this may just look like a full blackout package. But when the light hits this coupe, you start to see a very cool dark green metallic with a nice clearcoat shine. It's also at this point you see the full matte black package that highlights some of the most aggressive details, like the dual-hump hood scoop, full-length stripes, and full-width rear spoiler. Plus, with the grille, powder-coated bumpers, full trim, and rear panel all blacked-out, too, it's a well-coordinated two-tone of darkness. Open the door and you'll see more of this custom green and black attitude. You can tell they invested nicely in the fundamentals by the quality and condition of the seats, door panels, and carpeting. The dash has a well-done look with a bold green and a full custom machine-turned panel overlay. It frames nice upgrades like the Stewart Warner gauges and AM/FM/cassette stereo. Below that are nice auxiliary readouts, including a cool G-meter, and there are even cup holders. But what you'll really love is how this gives you a tingle of performance every time your left hand grabs the Tuff steering wheel, and your right one instantly is attracted to the Hurst T-handle shifter. There's even a mechanically engaged overdrive on the floor, too. As the devilish appearance indicates, there's something quite wicked under the hood of this Mopar. You could get a 340 cubic-inch motor like this in 1971. In fact, this is believed to be the original block. But you can tell there is a lot more going on there. This V8 really knows how to inhale deeply with the upgrades of a methanol/water Injection and an AiResearch T04 turbocharger. It also has the right upgrades to go with these additions, like the Oberg 600 heavy duty oil system and a Paxton boost control module. Plus, you have an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, K&N air intake, Mickey Thompson finned valve covers, and an MSD ignition. It all makes for a serious powerful Mopar that you fully control with the four-speed. Add in wide BF Goodrich T/As in the rear and disc brakes up front, and you have an awesome street/strip package. The sale comes complete with a dyno sheet and a copy of the February 1994 edition of Mopar Collector's Guide featuring this coupe. It's an awesome dark side car with the power to match. So this is the Demon you want to possess. Call today!!! |
