Description of 1971 Dodge Dart |
1971 Dodge Dart Swinger5. 9L Magnum EFI 1971 Dodge Dart Swinger 2 Door. Many tasteful modifications have been made to make this Swinger a one of a kind car. First thing addressed was adding a set of 1970 Barracuda door handles for a nice smooth profile. Them the tail lights were also swapped out for a set of 1970 Roadrunner lights. and those were converted over to LED. The original antenna hole in the fender was filled and a powered antenna was installed inside of the car. The next part to receive attention was the hood. A 1971 Mustang Mach 1 donated its hood and was grafted on to the swingers original frame work. giving the front end a very aggressive look. Once these modifications were complete. the rust free body received a professional base coat clear coat paint. with custom airbrushed Mopars on both quarter panels. The car does have some small paint chips from being driven. but are very minimal. The deck lid also has holes where a factory go wing spoiler was installed. These have been plugged. but a wing can be reinstalled if the new owner wishes to do so. Next up was the drivetrain. A fuel injected 360 magnum was installed along with a set of TTI stepped headers with ceramic coating. Backing up the 360 is a overdrive 46RE automatic transmission. This Powertrain adds great reliability. and a nice driving experience. The car has been driven all over the USA. Yes driven! This is not a trailer queen. Making the driving experience even more enjoyable is the suspension. QA1 upper and lower control arms are in place. along with QA1 adjustable strut rods. A pair of Mopar Performance torsion bars add to the performance feel. Out back is the all mighty Chrysler 8. 75 axle. Fitted with 10x2. 5" drums to haul her down. and a pair of Hotchkiss leaf springs. Up front a Wilwood 4 piston brake kit adds to the performance look. and operation. Power steering and power brakes are present. along with air conditioning for those warm summer months. Tilt steering was also added. along with custom gauges. New American Racing 17" Chrome wheels wrapped in Nitto 555 performance tires. The interior is fitted with a pair of well bolstered front bucket seats. and a custom built center console. A custom suede headliner was installed. and original door panels round out the interior. If you are looking for a car that you can drive to local shows. or acres the country. and look great doing it. this is the car for you!The car has been featured in both Mopar Muscle. and Mopar Action magazines on the cover. and also won the Mopar Muscle True Street Challenge held in Las Vegas in 2011. |
