Description of 1982 Dodge Ramcharger |
Hello Mopar, CHP Police car, 4x4 prepper or just cool old truck enthusiast's!! This is a rare find indeed. I have only seen 3-4 of these ever. This is the only one I've seen this old...as you can see from the paperwork this is not some cross dresser clown car. This is a real authentic CHP rig. This old Dodge has had a lot of time and money poured into it. The rear end, brakes, shocks, Goodyear Wrangler kevlar tires, battery, exhaust, alternator, NOS seat material, NOS head liner material (from SMS up in Oregon) functioning cold A/c, warm heater all new and gone through!!! Just to name some of the work done. New fuel pump, 4 barrel Edelbrock carb, makes this a get in and go turn key truck. Really nice original factory rubber floor mat. A mint condition AeroDynic light bar, it functions as it should, wig wag headlights, era correct scanner, micor radio head. Installed but not wired up. The A-pillar spotlights need to be adjusted, they work intermittently. As seen in picture, original CHP paperwork, shop number brass key tag, original shop number still on the driver door as well as the red vehicle put in use date tag. This truck has all the items a collector wants to see when verifying this trucks Agency use history. All that being said, these old rigs don't stay restored. They do need upkeep and attention to stay show ready and on the road. The truck smokes a bit on start up and may need some valve seals in the near future. When daily driven this does go away. Power steering pump leaks a bit. Some clear coat is letting loose and will need a wet sand and respray here and there. There are also some bubbles coming back in the paint. Most likely a prep issue when painted last. The rear hatch is fiberglass and has a crack in it. Functions fine as is. The decals are showing their age and should/could be replaced. The wiper/wiper arms need attention to work properly. The 4x4 shift mechanism works great on the fly. This truck is a blast to drive!! Just get in and go!! For you California guys there is no cat converter on the vehicle. It is currently only used for parades/ shows. Please ask all questions and bid to win this no reserve auction. Being sold as is. Thanks for looking and good luck!! |
