Description of 1970 Dodge Charger Charger 500 |
WELCOME to NAMCmopar's on-line store!Up for sale from the MoPar Lovers here at North American Muscle Cars - 1970 Dodge Charger that was originally a 383 HP car (now has strong 1969 440) rebuilt 8 3/4 rear end and 727 auto trans. Bucket seats and console,Wilwood disc brakes on front, lots of tread on the tires. Before we get into decoding the VIN for everyone we wanted to mention that we'vereviewed, worked on, restored many car bodies in our 30 years of conducting biz as NAMC and this one seems really decent! We are showing the maximum number of photos -Car has no carpet so it's easy to review floorboards: no evidence of floor pans getting cut and replaced. No key was found for the trunk, so we pushed thru the back seat to pop it open. The guys mentioned car has a factory plum crazy purple trunk decklid under the surface paint job. That's kinda cool... Trunk floor has typical rust issues that need to be neutralized above fuel tank, so its probably been sweating for decades under a rubber mat. Same with the surface of car's roof under that non factory vinyl top... there's unsightly lumps/bumps under the black vinyl top and we know what's going on there... seen it so many times! Roof was not prepped correctly prior to gluing the vinyl fabric to the metal. But heck, this is the only rust we found! Surface rust is not an issue in this restoration game. Consider having NAMC repair this prior to shipping? Glass looks good, Windshield has been replaced previously. Car's stainless trim looks good. Front bumper and front grill looks ok! Rear bumper is slightly tweeked? Car needs a battery prior to shipping because it is borrowing NAMC's presently. Car must ship within 20 days of auctions end or be subject to $35 daily (secure) storage fees and they add up. A copy of title will ship with car, original goes to new owner by priority USPS mail. In the listing we show you 3 pages of mechanical work conducted in 2005. When car arrived to our shop it did not run but this is very typical and not a problem for our guys! We got it running for the listing. New buyer cannot expect to jump in and drive home across country - we won't let that happen. Car needs full safety review for drive worthiness. Our guys got car to accept fuel on it's own and drove it around the block to check condition of brakes, electrical, rear end and transmission. One start up and all dash lights lit and the next time they did not, then the next time they did... There most likely will be gremlins to chase and conquer we have not looked for any, we have not met any, we have not killed any except for the clogged carb issue. NAMCmopar is perfectly suited to continue mechanical/electrical/interior/body and paint should you need our services. We bill by the hour. NAMCmopar is easy to find on the web. RECEIPTS STORED IN CAR's CONSOLE:$11,000 spent in 2005 -work receipts show the following: -rear end has been rebuilt-1969 440 rebuilt-727 automatic transmission rebuilt-8 3/4 rear end had axle bearing and seals replaced-new Wilwood disc brakes on front w booster and master cylinder (plus brake bias valve for rear brakes)-remove dash, replace gauge circuit board-and more! GREAT INVESTMENT!Car ships from Portland Oregon USA. PAYMENT: We require a $1,000 non refundable down payment within 24 hours of auctions end. We prefer final payment for car will be by bank wire. If you want to send personal check, money order etc. we have to hold car for clearing of funds -No Exceptions- If you want to show up with a bag of cash we will still need to take those bills to the bank for verification. Some people are weird and the cons are getting too full of themselves. TRANSPORTATION: Trasportation fees are additional to the sale price of this car. Car will only leave our location with full payment clearing. This could take 10 days, so plan for the transportation to arrive AFTER our office has notified you that payment has been authorized and cleared. We have success using USHIP.com to find affordable transporter options, try it. Car runs so it will be driven onto the transporter.
