Description of 1965 Dodge Coronet 440 |
This 1965 Dodge Coronet 440 has the right combination of originality, investments, and attitude that makes mid-60s Mopars so special. From the handsome styling, to the unique interior, to the 383 V8, this neat hardtop is a seldom-seen Dodge that delivers performance and big car comfort in one sleek package. This car is the product of a full restoration that was completed in 2018, and so that's why everything looks so fresh and crisp. The paint is especially noteworthy. Not only was there a professional application of the slick black, but also there was an investment in a Ceramic Pro coating only a few months ago. It means you have an outstanding and durable finish that's still under warranty through 2025! This added luster is ideal for taking out in the sunshine, because the bright light loves to show off how evenly it rolls across this coupe's super-straight panels. Just as crucial to highlighting this Mopar is the brightwork, and so it received the right attention during the restoration. The bright features against the black help showcase the extra-wide front end, angular hardtop, and the trim that runs the full length of this coupe. And the upgraded 15-inch Torq Thrust wheels have an extra meaty set in the rear to hint at some nice power. That red accent within the exterior trim not only looks bold, but also it's a preview of the full interior. This is tastefully done with a multi-tone red done in the classic-style pattern. And the full restoration means this vintage atmosphere also has a fresh feeling on everything from the textured upholstery to the plush carpeting. Because this wants to keep the classic feeling while still being quite fun, the upgrades are done with a careful eye. The cup holder center console is in a red that coordinates with the seating, there are cleanly-mounted auxiliary gauges, and a retro-style radio gives you a modern digital tuner with aux input. This was built at the dawn of the muscle car era, and this one celebrates it correctly. 1965 was the first year the 383 cubic-inch big block V8 was offered in the Coronet, and so we're happy to see one in this coupe. The exceptionally clean engine bay is proof that plenty of the restoration budget was spent here. And there's only been about 1,000 miles on it to break in the motor since it was rebuilt. Bright Mopar Performance valve covers, new hoses, an aluminum radiator, and much more give this one style and substance under the hood. The big V8 fires up readily and runs great. The performance cam makes sure to add some extra muscle on the streets and some extra growl to the dual exhaust. The Torqueflite A727 three-speed transmission was rebuilt at the same time as the motor, and it even include a shift kit. So it's a setup that knows how to handle the power, and at the same time, deliver easy automatic shifting. Out on the road, the power steering and power brakes w/discs up front mean there's plenty of comfort, too. Sleek, powerful, and distinct - this Coronet knows how to turn heads for all the right reasons. Call today!!! |
