Description of 1970 Dodge Coronet

Up for sale at a no reserve auction or best offer is a highly sought after 1970 Super Bee Original Hemi Orange EV2 Color code with the N96 Air Grabber Hood that has been restored from the ground up. This is a 2 owner car. Only 61,000 original miles. Original Coded Black Vinyl Top.
This car sat in a warehouse since 1986 until I started the project 2 years ago. The under carriage and the rear cross member at the trunk area is perfect and needed no attention.

This car retains all of its original sheet metal and has very little mud due to massaging certain dimples found around the car.
There was a small patch under the right front wheel well area where water is notorious to sit in and rot away the metal.
The car's original under coating preserved the frame and under carriage as it should have. Therefore, the car has had a new round of under coating re applied to seal off underneath the car.
There was no need to do a rotisserie and paint the under side body color.
The front floor area on both sides had very small holes so I replaced the foot area with 2 AMD metal 1/4 front floor pans.
Yes,there are pistol grip cars that bring 10-15% higher in money. But, not everyone can drive a 4 speed car. Therefore, that flaw in marketing a 4 speed makes this D32 727 automatic transmission option a more appealing and probably in the long run worth more to someone not seeking a 4 speed.
This car is being sold with no motor or transmission but the drive shaft and tranny cross member comes with the car.
Car originally came with a 383 but that is long gone. A 440 is ideal for this car. Hence, the 440 badges on the hood which is what the car is seeking to roar down the road with.
The rear end is a 3.23 sure grip rear.
The restoration covered the following and probably going to leave a few things out but it was done with the intentions on keeping the car and making it a super nice driver not a concourse car.
Here is a list from front to back as the photos show during the restoration. Please note the car has all the original glass in tact, but all glass is pictured.
All the chrome and stainless was polished and is the original trim.
Also, not pictured is the 4 wheel well trim molding. It is on car but not pictured.
I had all the bumpers re chromed and the brackets powder coated.
The ORIGINAL RADIATOR TO THE CAR was RESTORED AND COMES WITH CAR. THE RADIATOR WAS BEEFED UP AND NOW HAS EXTRA CORES AND A NEW TRANSMISSION COOLER FROM GLEN RAY RADIATOR OUT OF WISCONSIN.
The air grabber box was dis assembled and all new gaskets and bolts were installed afterpainting the unit.
The engine compartment was painted and the air grabber hood scoops had the chrome re done.
The under the hood gasket/sealer for the radiator support and firewall are not pictured but those have been installed and are new.
The super bee emblem on the face of hood is original and in mint condition. As is the tail pan bee emblem.
The tail pan is super clean except a small blemish from a sticker that was on car years ago.
The original fender, dash and door tags still are on the car.
***NOTE the picture of the Fender Tag was taken before the restoration was started.
The interior as displayed in photos shows the car was stripped down to bear metal.
All new interior was done. This includes among other things,a new trim set around the back window, and sail panel areas.
The upper interior drip rail area, door panels etc..., were restored and painted to match interior color.
All the original seat belts were professionally restored and they retain the original Chrysler logos. Please note that the picture shown with the seat belts with interior out of car was before the seat belts were cleaned and restored. The seat belts are super nice.
New sill plates, carpet, seat covers, headliner, insulation etc......
The head liner area as displayed in photos was sanded, primed and painted.
New dome light . New arm rest in front driver area and passenger side.
The tail light bezels, marker lights in rear were re chromed also. As mentioned tail pan is real nice and freshened up.
New Antenna and 2 new vintage style 1960's side mirrors. Also, the interior rear view mirror is mint.
The dash is original and sports the rallye gauges. No tic tock tach.
The restoration included various new bolt kits and rubber seal kits to correctly re-assemble car. No rusted bolts at all.
NOT SHOWN IN PHOTOS IS THE "C" STRIPE. THE STRIPE IS A GLOSS BLACK STRIPE.
I'LL POST THE PHOTOS WHEN I GET THEM IN MY PHONE NEXT WEEK.
It will not take much to put this car over the finish line.
All lights and electrical stuff like the door buzzer and interior lights and dash, plus the horn worked before restoration. I have photos and video of such.
The brakes and fuel lines need to be replaced and the front forward wire harness needs to be installed. I have the original wire harness, but I would buy a new one. The tires are poly glass tires which probably are the car's second set because they are date coded for 1977. The rims need cleaning and re painting. Rims are 14 inch.
Lastly, the only flaw I can honestly say this car might have is the trunk floor has a layer of fibre glass material on its surface. The prior owner owned a body shop some 30 years ago and for some reason his worker used the super bee trunk as his fibre glass staging area to work on his vette. The material hardened up and it stayed on trunk floor all these years. To try and remove the fibre glass material and or cut the trunk up made no sense at all. I will supply pictures upon request. Any ways, I bought a new mat which covers the floor area so it will not be seen anyway.

Good luck bidding this is a must have car if you are a mopar fan.
Starting bid is what it is but will consider offers.
