Description of 1991 Dodge Ram 2500 LE 68,200 original miles |
One family owned since new!Purchased by my father-in-law new where he lived in Los Angeles in January of 1992. Upon his death we inherited the truck about 8 years ago. The truck is a 1991 D250 LE and has only 68,200 miles total. This is the 91.5 model since it has the intercooled version of the first generation cummins diesel. In 1997 my father-in-law installed a Banks quick-turbo system which includes a turbo that spins up faster reducing lag and increases the output of the engine by 20 HP and 50 foot lbs of torque while improving fuel mileage by 2%. He also purchased a set of Banks gauges (tach, boost, and exhaust temp) at the same time. Currently the tach is flaky working only sometimes. It has a 5 speed manual transmission with compound (granny) low and 5th gear overdrive. The truck averages between 18-22 mpg. The LE package includes power windows, door locks, side mirrors, PS, PB, and AC that still blows cold. The truck includes a rear sliding window, bed liner and matching stockland locking canopy. The tires are near new with less than 5000 miles. Aside from normal maintenance (oil changes, fuel & air filers) the only things I had to do in the last 8 years was replace the voltage regulator and brake master cylinder. The truck starts every time and runs perfect. Other than some light surface rust, the truck is rust free. Being a 30 year old original paint truck, the paint is showing some patina after 22 years in the CA sun followed by 8 years in the eastern WA desert. Most noticeable on the hood and cab rooftop, pictures are enclosed to highlight those areas. Other items of note, the speedometer has never worked since we have had the truck BUT the odometer and tripometer DO work so the mileage shown is accurate. I added a gps to monitor speed in place of the speedo. Other small items to note, the right rear back glass is missing on the canopy but the screen is intact. The right tail lenses has a small hole (maybe 3/8") near top of lens, the right front fender running light was missing so I added a trailer running light I had so it is a different shape than the original. And finally there has alwaus been a small ~2" crack in the windshield at the base on the passenger side. It is not noticeable nor has it increased in over 8 years (see pic). My father-in-law never towed anything with the truck. I added the trailer brake when we got it to pull our 22 foot travel trailer which weighs about 5500lbs. We alternate between the truck and our suburban so maybe have used the truck to tow a half a dozen times. I am happy to take and email any additional pictures you might like to see or if you have any additional questions please ask. These first gen Dodge diesels are becoming collectible and it is almost impossible to find one with this low of mileage, it's a true survivor with hundreds of thousands of miles still in her. I have set the minimum reserve very reasonable and low. This truck is being sold as-is, where-is with no warranties expressed or implied. I do require a non refundable $500 deposit via paypal within 24 hours of auction close and full payment within 3 days. Come and drive it home or make your own shipping arrangements from Richland Washington. Serious inquiries only please.
