Description of 1949 Dodge Other Pickups |
1949 Dodge Pickup truck 5 Window! NO RESERVE!! Up for sale to the highest bidder is this great 'ol 49 Dodge. This is a pickup, not a big truck, so it has the smaller front fenders, and 16" wheels and tires, and with the dump bed, it is the perfect combination of the classic pickup, and useful workhorse. This old Dodge is actually a two owner truck, and was purchased by a farmer in western Kansas brand new. As equipment and farms kept getting larger, it was sold in the 80's to the gentleman I purchased it from, where it has been used as a weekend warrior for tree branches, landscaping, etc. Two of his children even learned how to drive in it, he figured they could learn with the basics, as driving a 1949 model is a little more active experience than a modern vehicle. Let's get the bad out of the way first, of which there is very little - 1. It is going to need some glass replaced, as it has been cracked over the years on the farm - the corner glass is still good, and all the rest is flat glass. Glass kits are available from several vendors, and pretty cheap. Also - all the tires hold air, but are weathered and a little out of round from sitting, so they will eventually need some attention. The good - this truck fires up and runs like a sewing machine, even on a cold day. Pull the choke, pump the pedal twice, and she fires on a couple of cranks. The engine sounds good, with good oil pressure, and no major leaks anywhere. The transmission shifts fine through all gears (it is non synchro - so good chance to learn to double clutch!) The brakes even work on this one! - it is really fun to drive - and gets a lot of looks, some of which can be jealous, when you pull up to your house and dump that load of mulch without a shovel! As you might expect, this truck does have a few bumps and bruises from its years of service, but it is overall very straight, with almost zero rust. Floors are solid, etc.. There are so many options with this one, it is great as is, or if you want to doll it up a little, it would even make a great father son project, that you can enjoy and drive while fixing it up. Over the years, the title for this truck got lost, but in Kansas that is no big deal. I have applied for a new title with the state, and am simply waiting on it to arrive. I guarantee you a clean Kansas title, in my name, but it may take about 30 days for me to receive it. Please check my feedback, I have sold a lot of trucks with no complaints - I do this for fun and truly love it! You are welcome to let truck set here as long as you need, to arrange shipping - as long as it is paid for. This is a relatively small truck and will haul easily on a decent car trailer. Please call Cort - 620-786-5172 - with any questions. Thank you and good luck! |
