Description of 1972 Dodge Dart swinger

Original 1972 DART Swinger 2 door Coupe. 77. 00k . nbsp; 318 5. 2L Auto trans 3 sp. Factory Air Conditioning that is functional! Clean PA title. This car was in dry storage for many years and is in very good original condition for it's age. Obviously it was driven and used previously and time . wear & tear get to some parts. The vinyl top was torn and fraying. so it was pulled and stripped off. The roof was sanded clean and painted black for the time being to protect the metal & give the look of the black roof. Replacement vinyl top kits are easily available and inexpensive. Also much better quality than original vinyl. * Has OEM grille installed in car. aftermarket steel mesh grille will go with it. but ORIGINAL now installed * The interior is in excellent shape for the year the only flaws I have noticed are some small tears in the passenger side cloth part of the seat. which can be replaced by an interior shop with matching material. nbsp;The vinyl parts are in excellent condition. the Dash. Headliner. Seatbelts. Rear seats & carpeting. are all in excellent condition! The engine is the original 318. was a 2bbl all it's life until recently. When the car was pulled from storage all the gaskets & seals were dry rotted. the engine was pulled and torn down. all new Fel-Pro gaskets and seals installed. heads and valves gone over. fresh rings. bearings & oil pump. New hoses. water pump. the Fuel Tank was replaced with new unit due to gum and varnish. along with the sender and strainer to assure clean fuel flow. The Radiator was pulled and sent to rad. shop for cleaning and testing. The coil was leaking and intermittently functional. nbsp;a new MSD high output coil & matching resistor also. nbsp;New Plugs. wires. cap & rotor & points also were installed. A new aluminum Intake and 4bbl carb was installed along with a pair of Chrome valve covers. nbsp;headers and duel exhaust with flowmaster mufflers! ** All ORIGINAL INTAKE. 2bbl carb. cast iron EXHAUST MANIFOLDS were BOXED & SAVED . they will go with the car when sold. along with the 5 original steel wheels with tires (4 plus spare). Also 4 original hubcaps that came with the car. * This car was NOT raced previously. the upgrades are all recent and mostly for looks and to improve performance to show. The body mostly straight. some small normal dents and waves. there is some rust *( these all did) but VERY MINIMAL. The bottom of the rear quarters had some body filler behind the rear tire. about 3-4 " up along the outer panel. the rockers. nbsp;passenger floor panels. torque boxes. frame. are in EXCELLENT shape compared to many I have seen prior. being ORIGINAL UNRESTORED. The grille is OEM INSTALLED IN CAR * comes with a black mesh aftermarket grill kit. ( see pix ) Some steering and suspension components have been replaced due to wear and tear ( tie rod ends. ball joints. brake parts) to meet Insp. Safety requirements. The Brake System has been almost all been replaced. with OE equipt. when possible. All new Master cyl. . Brake Shoes. Wheel Cylinders. Springs and Hardware. Bearings cleaned and repacked. seals. New Flexible rubber hoses & Brake fluid. To bring the vehicle to safe driving standards. . he car stops very well. The car was gone over for PA State Insp. and Has new stickers. It is a nice driver that gets attention due to not many around any longer and brings back memories. With a little TLC. a little body work. some fresh paint and a new vinyl top this could be a great blast from the past to take to the shows. You may say the price is a bit high ? when you look at the work that has already been done. it adds up quick. Not much left to do to finish for shows. It is drivable and safe to use on the road NOW. When done I have seen these sell between $12 -15. 00k Which is inexpensive compared to other MOPARS. The Barracuda. Charger. Super Bee. Satellite. GTX. nbsp; etc. this is a low cost classic Muscle car! With some ZEST. for a few thousand more this could be a GREAT CAR. Or Drive it as is. for nostalgia!
