Description of 1956 Dodge Coronet |
Nice 56 Dodge Coronet with a newly rebuilt 270 Poly engine. Runs great and has approximately 1500 miles since rebuild. It has two issues that need to be explained. While at the 2015 Lonestar Roundup the transmission started losing high gear. It will shift into high and then go in and out of gear. I had drove it to the Roundup with no problems but something has gone wrong with the high gear. May need rebuilding but I am not sure. Also. the left hand exhaust manifold has broken. I had the same problem about 2 years ago and had it welded up but the exhaust got banged loading it on a trailer and the manifold broke in the same location again. Other than those two things. I have been driving this almost daily and have had no problems with the car. I have been looking at other projects and need to sell this one to provide funding for others. I just finished the complete rebuild of the dash panel. gauges and wiring. I have painted the dash and rewired it including adding a fuse box. I have all photos of the engine and interior rebuilding. Floor pans have been replaced with heavy steel. Engine and front clip has been rewired also. Body is in need of some work or leave it as is. Interior is in very good shape. The car is completely original with the exception of the radio and wheels. I have the original wheels and hub caps that originally came with the car. This is a real head turner and gets a lot of compliments. When I go to a car show I never see another car like this. Thanks for looking. |
