Description of 1973 Dodge Monaco |
1973 Dodge Monaco Brougham RARE - 4 Door Pillarless Hardtop Original - 26. 00 Actual Miles The 1973 Dodge Monaco Brougham was introduced in 1965 as Dodge’s mid size entrant but soon found itself branded as a full size luxury liner competing with the Dodge Polara. Plymouth Sport Fury and other Chrysler models. By 1968 the Polara was competing with the Monaco for the luxury market and the police market. however Monaco won the battle and was the future for Dodge luxury cars. This 1973 represents the very last year for the big fuselage C body Monacos. With the striking black and white styling. it is easy to see this car looks exactly like the California Highway Patrol Dodge Polaras’ used in that time period as well. This 1973 Monaco Brougham has had one owner before me since new some 40 years ago before I purchased it. I purchased it in 2013. While I had intended to personalize this car I came to realize it was really too original and too special to do what I wanted and I ended up buying a different project car so this has just sat in my garage for 2 years. The Monaco still has its 1977 Emissions Sticker and a 1984 New Mexico State Inspection Sticker on it. It been has an oil lube sticker on the door reading 21. 00 miles in 1984. This Monaco has only been driven 5. 00 miles in the last 30 years. I had planned to dye the top black and have a triple black car and do some personalization to it. Then when the car showed up I realized the car was virtually a brand new car. The interior is flawless with no wear anywhere. I had hoped to build a custom personalized car from it but the car is way too nice and pristine to do that to. I did not have the heart to take such a beautiful pristine car and start changing it. Original super pristine classic cars are way too hard to come by. You will likely be as shocked as I was when I saw it the first time. It’s like it was in a time capsule since 1973. The interior looks as if it was installed at the factory yesterday. Documentation on this includes Monaco: · Original New Mexico Title from 1973 · Notarized Odometer Statement from the Original Owner This 26. 00 actual mileage 1973 Dodge Monaco Brougham is equipped with: · 400 CI - 2 Barrel Engine – All Original · 727 Automatic Transmission - Original · Brougham Package · Hideaway Headlights – they work! · Rally Wheels with white walls · Cold Air Conditioning – Converted to 134a Refrigerant · Power Windows · Power Steering · Cruise Control · Tilt Steering Wheel · Factory AM/FM Stereo Radio · Rim Blow Steering Wheel · Cloth Seats · Original Spare Tire (never been on the ground) The Monaco starts. runs and drives well and the air conditioning is super cold. You will not believe how much fun this car is to drive. The Michelin tires are in great condition with lots of tread. The key buzzers. seat belt buzzers and all the dash lights work just as originally intended. This Dodge Monaco has never been wrecked and still has the original TX9 Black Paint and original white vinyl top. both in excellent condition for a 42 year old car. The interior looks great with no wear or tear to the seats. headliner. door panels and carpet. it all looks virtually brand new. The dash has two super small cracks between a couple of speaker holes but otherwise the dash is perfect. I took pics of the cracks for you. They cannot be seen from inside the car. you have to look through the windshield to see them. The engine compartment looks like new with all the original factory markings. placards and stickers under the hood. This Dodge Monaco still retains the original spare tire having never been on the ground and still has the molding bumps on the tread. The power windows seem a bit slow and might need something. I was told the grease in the tracks is old and hard and needed cleaning and relubing probably. If you have to ask permission to buy this car please do so before you bid on it.
