Description of 1959 Edsel Ranger |
1959 Edsel Ranger 4 door with the 292 V8 engine. Runs and yard drives. Needs brake work. All new parts to restore the brakes will be included in the sale (including new hoses. wheel cylinders. shoes. and master cylinder) Does not have power steering or power brakes. Non a/c car but always could add it. Could easily be a driver car or restore. All trim. emblems. and chrome on the car and in descent shape. (See photos) Bumpers have some dents and bruises but could be straightened. Chrome on them is very presentable. Floor pan. hood. trunk lid. and rockers are solid. Lower front fenders. over rear wheelwell. and trunk has rust and will need some repair (mostly each side of the trunk bottom - shown in the photos) Tires hold air with no leaks and have 3/4 tread left Engine runs ok but smokes and burns oil. Consider it worn and will need rebuilt or drop in a new one. Driven last year before brakes went out and transmission shifts well with no problems. Interior is 100% original Seats are good with only a couple small holes about quarter size and a couple seams are starting to split. Door panels are nice Needs a headliner but old one is present and splitting. Dash is nice black painted steel. Chrome dash trim and accents are bright. Clock doesn't work. Radio has some static when turned on. but no noise. Dash has not been altered or cut ever. Needs new carpet on floor. Added a correct Ford rebuilt carb several years ago. Side glass is ok but delaminating. pass vent window cracked. rear window is perfect. windshield is cracked but I got a used replacement and a brand new rubber seal from Steele Rubber Products that will go with the car. Red exterior paint is actually a burnt orange color (maybe from fading) Original color was President Red and Snow White top and body line between trim Has been repainted once probably 25 years ago. A couple small dent in trunk lid; all other body panels have no damage. Windshield post trim on passenger side that is damaged in the pic has been replaced with a perfect piece. Newer exhaust pipe. All hubcaps present and on car. Has original jack and spare tire in trunk. Clear title in my name ready to sign over to new owner and car is currently registered with historical plates. Car needs to be restored; I have lost my storage and dont want to leave it outside. Any questions please ask Thanks |
