Description of 1937 Ford Other DELUXE PHAETON |
I AM SELLING MY 1937 FORD PHAETON 4 DOOR CONVERTIBLE . I SEMI RESTORED THE CAR 8 YEARS AGO . I PUT NEW FLOORS FROM BOB DRAKE IN . ANY RUST WAS CUT OUT ( WHICH THE BODY HAD VERY LITTLE ) SOME BODY WORK AND NEW BLACK PAINT JOB . THE INTERIOR IS ORIGINAL EXCEPT A FEW NEW PANELS BY YOUR FEET AND ON THE SIDE OF THE REAR SEAT . NEW RUGS MADE . HE CAR WAS UPDATED BEFORE I BOUGHT IT WITH A 100 horsepower 59-ab 24 stud flathead motor . THIS IS A Original steel car. One of 3723 built. one of the rarest early model Fords. Convertible top. wood grained dash. four correct side curtains. banjo style steering wheel. white side tires. original am radio. fog lights. clock in dash. leather upholstery. car has updated hydraulic brakes. riginal 3 speed transmission. This car came from South Carolina and was believed to be a state trooper car. most of these cars went overseas for the war or were used as Police cars. Not many have survived. Some of the things done are. new black paint job. new metal floors were put in (from Bob Drake). all brake shoes. wheel cylinders. rubber brake lines and master cylinder were replaced. All new water hoses. new gas tank. motor was just tuned up including plugs. wires. points and condenser. Generator and starter have been recently rebuilt. SOME PICTURES SHOW THE CAR WITHOUT THE PINSTRIPE . THE CAR NOW HAS A WHITE PINSTRIPE . ALSO THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR IN THE PICTURES SHOW WHAT LOOKS LIKE PAINT MISSING UNDER THE RUNNING BOARDS IT IS ACTUALLY MUD . I'VE CLEANED AND PAINTED ALOT OF THE UNDERNEATH OF THE CAR WITH POR 15 BEFORE AND AFTER RESTORATION WORK . WITH ALL THE SNOW AND ICE HERE I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET IT OUT AND TAKE UPDATED PICTURES . I HAVE TAKEN IT TO A FEW CAR SHOWS AND I WAS THE ONLY GUY WHO HAD A 1937 PHAETON . YOU SEE MANY 36'S BUT NOT A 37 LIKE MINE . THE CAR NEEDS NOTHING TO DRIVE RIGHT NOW . I WILL LIST THE THINGS YOU CAN REPAIR OVER THE WINTER . THE IGNITION SWITCH KEY IS BROKE . IT WORKS AND STARTS WITHOUT THE KEY BUT IF YOU WANT IT PERFECT A NEW CYLINDER KEY LOCK WILL NEED TO BE APPLIED I BOUGHT IT BUT HAVE NOT REPLACED IT . THE WIPER CONTROL NEEDS TO BE REPLACED . THE RADIO NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED . AND THE CLOCK NEEDS TO BE HOOKED UP . I WASNT GOING TO SELL THIS CAR BUT I HAVE COLLEGE BILLS FOR MY SON TO PAY . THIS IS A INVESTMENT TYPE CAR . IF YOU CHECK THE CHASING CLASSIC CAR SHOW THIS EXACT TYPE CAR SOLD FOR OVER 50K LAST YEAR . MINE IS NOT THAT FAR AWAY CONDITION WISE FROM THE ONE ON TV. ASK ANY QUESTIONS . CHECK MY FEEDBACK I'VE SOLD EXPENSIVE CARS AND RACE CARS OVER THE YEARS WITH HAPPY BUYERS . THIS CAR IS SURE TO MEET OR EXCEED YOUR EXPECTATIONS . |
