Vehicle Overview 1986 Ferrari Testarossa 'Flying Mirror' Successor to the Berlinetta Boxer the Testarossa was conceived in 1984 thus perfecting the original cars rear mid engine/ rear drive layout. The Pinin Farina body was conceived by designer Nicosia with guidance by Chief designer Fioravanti who is responsible for many newer Ferrari designs. Design cues include wider rear to front relationship, ctive side slats with cold air intakes were progressive steps to limit rear axle lift without the employment of a rear wing. The original design featured a lone drivers mirror mounted high. This feature is also known as "mono specchio". To many, he original 'Flying Mirror' design represents the car in it's purest form. Tech notes include: A full tubular chassis with rear subframe, dvanced double wishbone suspension, 0/60 weight distribution, 2.17" front brakes, 2.20" rear brakes 4.9 litre flat 12 cylinder engine with 4 valves per cylinder 390hp and 490 nm of torque and a top speed of 180MPH made the TR a formidable foe of it's contemporaries. Sadly the original books have gone missing. We have records that the car has been in stored in a climate controlled warehouse, nd was exercised seasonally until 2007. After 2011 the car was placed in long term storage. The car was removed from long term storage in 2014. Upon inspection our technician advised that the car not be run until it received the following items to make it road-worthy. Major service including all belts, oses, iming belt, ater pump service with new seals, lean and repack all CV joints, eseal rear transmission housing, nspect and clean clutch assembly replace release bearing, eplace existing misc gaskets and thermostats, nspect emission system, erform pressurized check of engine seals and water pump. The period correct high line audio system remains intact. Install 4 new BF Goodrich G Force tires and balance. The car runs and drives as it should with no excuses. The car performs at the top of it's game and is worthy of an inspection by the most discriminating buyer.
