Description of 1989 Ferrari 328 |
I am listing my beloved Azzurro '89 328 GTS.This desirable 1989 model is one of just a handful worldwide that were finished in beautiful Azzurro Metallic. The exterior is complimented by supple Crema leather interior with dark tan carpeting. It is the only US spec '89 model that I am aware of in this color combination. The only other Azzurro '89 in the US that I know of has a red leather interior. This car has always been serviced by professionals for it's entire life, and the documentation for this car must be some of the best in the world. I have a three-ring binder with a huge history file including the original window sticker, all original order and sale documents from when the car was purchased new, and a wealth of service records. In addition to this I have the original leather pouch with all of the books, including the stamped owner service book. This car has 71,624 miles on the chassis, but the gentleman that I purchased the car from lavished this car with a 100% complete, top to bottom, fully documented engine rebuild. Apparently there was some cylinder leakage, so the car was entrusted to Richard Capoccia and Fernando Torres of Competizione & Sports Cars in Gaithersburg, MD. These guys are ex-Ferrari of Washington Master Techs and are very well regarded in Ferrari Circles. This rebuild included the replacement of many of the engine's internal components, and cost close to $45,000! I have photos (both hard copies and digital) of the engine rebuild, and I'd be happy to forward them to interested parties. It was performed in June 2010 at 61k miles, so there are only 10k miles on the fresh motor. I have since had a major service performed just a year ago by Tony DeRemigio and Anthony Sinnot of Scuderia Performante in Malvern, PA. Anybody who knows Ferrari service knows these guys. They're both ex-Algar Master Techs and they're as good as they get. I've had them look after the car since I bought the car back a few years ago. I am open to any PPI in the Philadelphia area. This is not a show car, but a good driver-level car that can be truly enjoyed. The body and interior has a patina befitting of a 71k mile Ferrari that has been driven but cherished. There are some stone chips and a few very small dings that do not show in photos. The seats have been dyed in the past but show well with slight wear and are very soft and supple to the touch. The paint on the car is actually very good. There has been some cosmetic paintwork over the years on a few panels, but the color match is absolutely spot on. I challenge anybody to find which panels were done. The wheels are showing their age a bit, with some pitting and wear, but they show well and are fitted with nearly new Bridgestone Potenza rubber. At some point, the original tool kit went missing. Currently the car has a replica 308/328 toolkit, but the original jack set, with spare belts, etc, are present in their original pouch. This car comes with two complete sets of keys, including one of the original folding ignition keys. This car is very, very special to me and I am truly hesitant to list it for sale. I've been fortunate enough to own the car twice, and after having seven 328's I think I am finally ready to try something newer. Whoever buys this car is going to get a wonderful car that they can truly enjoy. It has been serviced religiously and is turn-key. I know this is a cliche, but I do not have to sell this car and if I don't get a number that I am satisfied with then I will be happy to keep it. Pros: -Stunning and extremely rare color combo. -Outrageously complete documentation -Only 10k miles on 100% complete engine rebuild -Serviced and up to date -New Tires -Hyper-Flow Catalytic Converter -Hill Engineering Drilled Pedals Cons: -Some stone chips and light wear & tear -Speedometer needle frequently bounces up and down (Hasn't been an issue driving) -A/C works, but it may need a charge. Please feel free to email me with any questions at astaino328@gmail.com. Also, don't hesitate to contact any of the mechanics mentioned above to ask about the car for added peace of mind. Thanks you for your time. |
