Description of 1991 Ferrari F40 F40 |
Euro Spec. 3owner. Can be Classiche Certified. Matching Numbers. Carefully maintained - no expenses spared; its impeccable reliability and high performance are a testament to how much attention and care was poured into this vehicle in its lifetime. We acquired this Ferrari F40 from a collector who has owned 6 F40s in his lifetime, he raved about this particular car’s performance and reliability. “The most exiting Ferrari I’ve ever driven”- Jay Leno, November 2016 It's undergone a major service costing over $120,000 less than 200 miles ago. It is mechanically sound, idles perfectly and starts up immediately. Ferrari has also fully inspected and serviced the car this month. FERRARI INSPECTION REPORT: Full Compression andleak down test completed. Both came out well within Ferrari factory specification range, Compression on all cylinders is very strong. (detailed Ferrari inspectionattached) There are no sweats or leaks, the car is mechanically brand new. Ferrari confirms that the car is numbers matching, chassis, engine and transmission are all original numbers matching. Ferrari suggests a belt service since it has not been done in the last 5 years even though only 200miles have been put on the car since then. We will include thisservice in the sale price of the vehicle. They will alsoreplace the spark plugs and anything else they deem necessary while changing the belts. Comes with original Ferrari tools and books. Due to the fact that all components of the car are numbers matching (chassis, engine and transmission confirmed by Ferrari) it is possible to obtain Ferrari Classiche Certification with a few simple modifications, although this would involve removing the state of the art lift suspension system, among other minor changes, which we believe is an essential feature on this car. The car comes with the original factory Classiche certified new suspension as well in case someone wishes to have it. FeaturesNew Pirelli P Zero tires (245/40 ZR 17 in the front and 335/35 ZR 17 in the back). New Brembo brakes (rotors & calipers). Tubi (Ferrari dealer approved) exhaust system. This particular F40 is extremely useable in real-world driving conditions thanks to a sophisticated lifter system that allows for much better ride clearance. The car has adjustable coilover suspension system which can raise and the lower the car very quickly at the touch of a button (see walkaround video for a demonstration). We also have the brand new Ferrari factory suspension. Euro-Spec vs US-Spec This Ferrari F40 is a European specification model which presents a number of significant advantages over the North American versions. Firstly, the Euro cars look much better thanks to weaker automotive regulations. The North American version of the F40 has thick front and rear bumperettes which take away from the car’s original sleek design. The European version is also 250lbs lighter for the non-cat versions as opposed to the US models which you can certainly feel on such a light car. The European version was the first production car to ever achievethe 200MPH mark which the US version could not do due to different gearing ratios and a bunch of added weight. Some other differences include single-piece seats with 3-point seat belts (instead of 2-piece seats with reclining backs and a passive restraint system on the US models) and peak torque coming in slightly earlier on the Euro-spec car (4000 rpm instead of 4300 rpm). Our 1991 Ferrari F40 is a joy to drive and admire. As most collectors can attest, low mileage is rarely an indication of a classic car’s mechanical condition, particularly at this level of performance. Ferrari F40s with this mileage tend to be much healthier examples; they have been driven as Ferrari intended and regularly maintained by customers sparing no expense on their prized possession. This vehicle is right for the investor who wants the unmatched visceral experience of an F40 on an open road or track with great reliability. Luckily for its future owner, the car is stunning to look at and its excellent aesthetic condition will show beautifully in any serious car collection as well. Clean CarFax report. |
