Description of 1985 Ferrari Testarossa |
For sale is my beautiful 1985 Ferrari Testarossa Flying Mirror Car. This car was one of the first Testarossa's in the United States, and was sold in Texas in December of 1985. It has a production date of June of 1985 so it's almost 32 years old. I have owned this car since 2014 and have very much enjoyed it and it's experience. This Testarossa has been driven sparingly throughout it's years, and has only a little over 22,500 miles. With only 121 shipped as USA specified cars in 1985, this is a true collectable. There are many 1986 Testarossa's, but very few of the 1985's and they are not up for sale very often, as collectors realize the importance of these first cars, and what they could be in the future. Ferrari's are the fine art of the car world, and without a doubt the Testarossa changed the car world in dramatic fashion. It currently is being serviced at the shop that completed the engine out service in 2014 in the Seattle area for an annual and a PPI since I am located in Spokane, WA and there is not a qualified shop here to complete a PPI. I have all the receipts from the 2014 service, which included a complete belt change, new fly wheel, clutch, plugs and plug wires, seat repair (drivers site seat the rear recline wouldn't hold) and AC work. The car at that time had around 20,000 miles. I have receipts also from a service that was completed back in 2005, along with some other service documents. The mileage at the time of the 2005 service was only 18K miles. I installed a new shifter bushing that is located at the engine bay as that wore out over it's 32 years. This is a common item in the Testarossa. I have also installed a new stereo as well. There is an old cellular phone in the car, mounted on the passenger side and I have not removed it due to it's rarity and novelty. I also installed a Capristo exhaust and cat delete pipes, and 18" Compomotive rims with Pilot Sport II tires. These are hard to find as being a single lug car, not many aftermarket options for rims. I also have a complete set of extra splines that are for the 415 metric rims and tires. I have the original exhaust all boxed up, along with cats, and the original rims, with 415 metric tires. The tires are older and so I felt more comfortable with new 18" rims and tires. Plus it really updated the cars look and performance. I have the jack bag and tools for the car as well, for those who wish to show the car, and the original owners manual and warranty card. The interior of the car is very unusual and maybe the only one of it's kind in the USA. With a Black Dash, Black Seats and Black Armrests, its very striking and looks amazing. Really breaks up all the tan in the car. It was one of the reasons I really liked it in the first place. I am selling with a 6 piece luggage set with new luggage bags. Paint on the car is not original, and is to be red. I have priced this car with the consideration that it will require someone to paint it back to Ferrari Red, I have had a professional painter estimate to be in the $16,000 to $20,000 range. I will send pictures of the receipts and luggage as requested. Please call me with any questions or offers, Brian 509-370-3623 Trades maybe considered with cash. |
