For all you turbo guys, this is the engine you are looking for, because this was the most powerful L-series engine. The F54 motors with the P79 heads have flat-top aluminum pistons. All others came with dished pistons. In a performance engine, flattop pistons create a higher-quench mixture and allow for higher performance combustion chambers. Dished pistons are usually used to lower emissions. The P79 heads have diamond-shaped exhaust ports with steel liners that heat red-hot to reduce emissions. Chamber volume (53.5cc).
