Description of 1969 Ferrari Other |
The Ferrari Daytona 365 GTB/4 From 1968 to 1974, Ferrari built what many consider to be the best front engined V12 Ferrari, the 365 GTB/4 Daytona. a 352-horsepower, 4.4 liter engine equipped with a six-pack of Weber carburetors, the Daytona could reach 0-60 in just 5.4 seconds and a top speed of 174 mph, making it the fastest car in the world in its day. The Ferrari Daytona was offered in two distinct body styles. The more common is the Berlinetta, which is identifiable as an aggressive–looking coupe with cab-back proportions and a long hood line. The factory delivered 1279 hardtops, and only 122 of the rare Daytona Spider, which dropped the top for more dramatic convertible styling. Obviously, the more rare convertible body type is the most desirable amongst collectors, and as such, some of the original couples have been converted to the open-top styling. It is estimated that about 120 hardtops have been converted to the Spider configuration. This Car This early Daytona, S/N 12815 is presented in its original color of Rosso Corsa with black interior and red Daytona inserts. It has its original engine #12815 and beatiful Borrani wire wheels. This is a European market car supplied new in Italy to racing team owner Corrado Manfredi, who together with partner Giampiero Moretti (Momo Steering Wheels) was one of Ferrari’s best clients. The second owner registered the car in Monaco before it was sold to its third owner, a prominent Italian collector of Ferrari’s, where it was maintained by his personal mechanic. The car was converted from its original coupe form to spider configuration in Europe in the 1970’s. The conversion is faithful, very accurate and superb quality. The fourth and current owner acquired the car in 2005 and imported it to Southern California, where it has resided in a private collection since. Meticulously maintained by the current owner, the car has been used regularly but sparingly and currently shows approximately 54,000 kilometers (less than 34,000 miles) which are believed to be original. This is a no accident car that has been meticulously maintained by Fast Cars in Redondo Beach, California for the past 10 years and is mechanically excellent. Body and paint are great with a new interior installed in 2006 that is still like new. This is a truly reliable, non-needy car that starts every time, is very responsive and easily makes the roundtrip from Los Angeles to Monterey.
