CA 94608 1989 Ferrari Testarossa VIN: ZFFSG17A4K0080576 Exterior Color: Rosso Corsa Interior Color: Tan Leather Engine: 4. 9 Litre Flat 12-Cylinder Transmission: 5-Speed Stock: FJ1715 1989 Ferrari Testarossa VIN ZFFSG17A4K0080576. engine no. F113A040 10400 Rosso Corsa with Tan Leather Interior Upon its introduction in late 1984. the Testarossa stunned the world with its avant garde styling. Long low and wide. theTestarossa appeared even more so thanks to the extensive use of horizontal slatting. a feature that would be replicated both on other Ferraris and on many other lesser cars. Yet beneath these striking features was a surprisingly organic and handsome form that remains as arresting today as it was thirty years ago. Motivated by a new four valve version of Ferrari`s horizontally opposed twelve cylinder engine that made 390hp. the car was quick and made a fantastic racket. but was also very plush with leather almost everywhere. including on the rear shelf. headliner. and visors. The trunk is reasonably sized and the car very comfortable and easy to drive. making it an ideal way to cover long distances at high speeds in comfort. Many Testarossa owners use them regularly and there are many owners with cars having covered over 125. 00 miles. and even an example in the San Francisco area with over 200. 00 miles! This particular car was delivered new on 31 May 1989 at the Ferrari dealer in Manhattan and is an unmolested example has covered less than 9500 miles from new. Its first owner kept it for over 20 years and he fastidiously serviced the car. including regular belt services. There is a thick file of service invoices from 1993 to 2010. and during this period. the car was serviced almost exclusively by the same dealer. Its current owner is a serious collector and long term customer of Fantasy Junction. The car is complete with books (with pouch). tool roll with tools (although a few are missing). jack bag with jack. light bulb holder. and service records. The car is cosmetically excellent. It was repainted to very high standards and is nearly unmarked. with a handful of very small chips on the front of the car that have been touched up. There is one chip on one of the left side strakes. The fit and panel gaps is excellent. and the wheels are in very good condition. with approximately two inches of curb rash on the right rear wheel. and a chip on the left rear wheel. The tires are older Goodyears and should be replaced in the not too distant future. The glass. lights. and trim are all excellent. The interior is in excellent original condition overall. The dashboard shows extremely minimal shrinkage. which is only visible upon close inspection around the defroster vents. The seats are in very good condition. with minor wear to the driver’s seat bolster. and light creasing. The carpets are in very good condition. while the switches. controls. and instruments are excellent. There is one area of scuffing on the side of the center console from the driver’s seat rubbing. but the remaining leather trim. which is used extensively. is excellent. including the headliner. The engine compartment is original. unmolested. and attractive. There is some light soiling from regular use. but overall it is clean and tidy. reflecting the car’s low mileage and unrestored character. The front compartment is in excellent basically as-new condition. The car comes with a pair of black over mats. as well as the tool roll (nearly complete). jack bag with jack. light bulb holder. and books set with Schedoni pouch. The original keys and a thick file of service records are also included with the car. The car runs and drives well. It starts easily and the engine has no anomalies in its operation. The gearbox shifts well. including second gear from cold. The clutch engagement point is somewhat high. suggesting that it may be due for replacement. The last major service was done in 2010 about 400 miles ago. so another major would be recommended given Ferrari’s 5 year major service interval for the Testarossa. Patrick Ottis & Co. has estimated approximately $12. 00 to do the major service and fit a new clutch. which has been factored into the car’s asking price. Fantasy Junction is happy to transport the car to Mr. Ottis should the new owner so desire. The remainder of the driving experience is excellent. with tight steering and suspension. and properly functioning brakes. Although the car is dimensionally large. it feels much smaller when driving. and is a surprisingly civilized car that is still entertaining and would be well-suited to long trips at high speeds. This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a fundamentally undisturbed and unmodified low-mileage Testarossa. As a 1989 model. it features the updates of the later cars. and is also very complete with books. tools. records. These cars have seen considerable appreciation in recent years but still represent strong value. with values at less than half of those of the Boxer. suggesting plenty of room for continued appreciation.
