Description of 1968 Ferrari Other |
Concept Car FERRARI 365 BARCHETTA DESCRIPTION Often asked, "What it this Georgios carâ€. The answer given in short, One of One, just enjoy it as you see it.
So, what are the real origins of the car. In 1960's the car was commissioned to be build, in total 6 concept cars were commissioned by a bespoke builder, on what they believe would be a revitalization of an old sports icon, the world famous 59 Ferrari Testa Rossa. The cars were built in Europe each unique, different but yet all the same. They experimented with engines, transmissions, gearing, manual vs automatic, but make no mistake, they were all made to be race cars. The car is titled as a 1968 Fisher Fury, the company who made the racing chassis for Sbarro. The builder is in Switzerland in the 70's and 80's his name Sbarro. I have a few pictures of the car at his shop, with some articles when the and sister build were in the Geneva auto show. Send me a message and I can attach
Culminating in what you now see. Titled as a 1968 FF, the car has a tubular race chassis. Power comes from an Aluminum head V8, 650 Holley carb, powder coated valve covers, connected to a 5-speed manual transmission. Cooling comes from a Rad with twin cooling fans, Coil over shocks, adjustable on all four wheels, disk brakes with real 16" knock offs. Bridgestone tires, red rosta paint, number 10 sticker removable if so desired. Interior diamond stitching with bucket seats, tan interior continues to the tunnel, door panels and rear cover. Seats move back and forward, deep set foot boxes, I am 6â€2 and fit no issues. Nardi wood steering wheel, authentic horn and gear shift knob. Paint is fantastic *, all gauges work as they should. Side windows and windshield plexi glass with custom aluminum frame. All hand made to pay tribute to an era long gone by. Currently the car has 10 640 miles and counting. Car can be sent worldwide, absolute pleasure to drive, one off, not a kit car, not a replica by any means but rather a custom vision. Sound comes from twin horn trumpet exhausts, wind up the engine and the sound if fantastic.
*while the paint is fantastic, there are two cracks that have developed many years ago, corner front hood where the leather straps tie the hood down. Never bothered me, adds to the patina of the car, but in full disclosure they are there. First time the car has been put up for sale. I am a car collector for many years, passion has always been hand built cars from the 50's and 60's. I have decided to sell off my collection, please no trades, no bank loans, if need be ask your wife but will not see the car go until paid in full. I ran the car on E bay a few weeks back, only to have a bidder not pay or communicate. Please if you do not have the money, do not waist my time or yours, please.
Thank you
