Description of 1984 Fiat x1/9 |
1984 Bertone (Fiat) X1/9 in very good condition. The car has just 20,896 miles. The car is all original aside from new tires I had installed a few years ago. I bought the car in 2011 with just 15,600 miles and has been garage kept. I changed the oil and did a tune-up every year. The car runs fantastic. One of the funnest and best handling cars I've ever owned. The body is very good condition with minimal scratches and rust, owever, previous owner must have kept it outside because there are some small amounts of rust, n the engine cover, he rear spoiler and in the trunk area (see pics). The interior is near perfect, ith leather seat and dash and door panels all in excellent condition. Everything works including the power windows. The only think that doesn't work is the passenger side brake light...might just be a fuse. Everything else works, ncluding the speedometer, backwards) tachometer, as guage, emperature guage, tc. The car has had some clutch issues recently. Its been to a mechanic three times in the last year or so. The first time I took it, he slave and master cylinders were replaced. I had no problems for several months, ut then I would press the clutch pedal down and it wouldn't come back up. Took it to the mechanic again and he said the clutch arm was just stuck from non-use (I seldom drive it in the Winter). Then a few months ago, had the same problem, oo it back in and he lubricated the clutch parts. But now it has a "sticky" clutch. When you put it in reverse and when you were start out, ou have to pull the clutch pedal back up with your foot, ometimes causing the car to lunge. But once you have been driving for awhile, he clutch works fine. I'm not sure what the problem is, aybe it was "over-lubricated" but probably a cheap fix for someone who knows what they are doing. Also I have a new slave and master cylinder that come with the car. Clutch problems aside, his is a great running car, nd probably one of the lowest mileage original cars out there, n very good shape. Please email with any questions. |
