Description of 1980 Fiat Other 124 Spyder |
My Dad and I have owned this car for the last 10 years and have loved it. However, am now making minivan payments so the fun car has to go. 5-Speed Fiat 2000 fuel injected Spider 124 with an older restoration, ut still in great shape. The paint and interior restoration was done prior to us owning it, pproximately 12 years ago we estimate (based on the age of the paint, tc). However, t still looks and runs great. Has everything original, umbers match everywhere, tc. I drive this daily, o leaking issues or anything. The top has no holes in it, nd while it's 12 years old, he vinyl on it is in great shape and could probably easily go for another 5. No visible rust. This was primarily a California car but spent a brief time of it's life in Wisconsin. It was never driven in icy / wintery conditions and has been garaged every day since we've owned it. Over the years we've spent $5k or more on miscellaneous fixes. The most expensive was probably a head gasket replacement about 5 years ago, ut it's ran great since. Nothing went un-repaired for any period of it's life while we owned it. The tires have excellent tread, robably almost near-new, s I had them replaced a couple of years ago but I only put 2000-3000 miles a year on the car, f that. It starts up in a quick hurry and the engine is very strong/quick. The clock on the dashboard never worked, nd the Fiat mechanics have all said to expect it on this model, o it was probably the only thing not gone through. There's a small exhaust leak towards the muffler making it sound a little louder than normal. The radio was hooked up wrong, o at the moment it doesn't work. This is admittedly my fault. The previous radio was an aftermarket casette player which worked great. I tried to upgrade it [myself] to a CD player - and well, can't figure out exactly how it's supposed to connect in. I was going to fix it by going to a Best Buy or a stereo store who probably knows how to wire such things. The seats do have small tears but the carpet is very clean. Overall, he car is very clean in and quite a nice driver. It hasn't had an accident that I'm ever aware of and other than a few nics on the paint there's not a bunch of annoying door dings, tc. The paint was done at a pretty good quality shop I believe, o orange peel, tc. The heater works great. The ride is nice and the brakes are fairly new. What else? Ask and I'd be happy to answer. I'm sorry to give this one up. This was my fun car. :-( |
