Description of 1971 Fiat 850 Berlina |
I am offering my 1971 Fiat Berlina (Sedan). I found it locally. It had been brought up to Oregon from California and still has its original Cal pink slip. It had clearly been sitting for some time. Ran the engine just from a can and it ran great, so I removed and acid dipped the fuel tank and resealed it. New fuel pump and lines and so now it runs on its own. The engine sounds great, it does not make any weird noises and it does not smoke. The brake hydraulics were gone, so I completely replaced all the hydraulics and hoses and it now has good brakes. It runs and drives fine. The tires were old so I put new tires on. It has 13" rims on it. It should have 12" originally, but the 13 inch are a good way to get better tire selection, at least state side. When I got the car it had red paint on it. It was clearly painted with a rattle can. I have no idea why. I easily removed the red paint and most of the primer underneath. What you see mostly now is the original paint. Someone could at this point take some time and carefully remove most of the rest of the primer and get to the original paint all over. As you can see from the photos, the panels are really straight. It does not have any dents or dings and such. It is really a nice body. If you wanted to paint it, it would not be that difficult to prep. The only rust I can find on the car is on the driver side just behind the front wheel. A small bubble. I can not find anything similar elsewhere on the car. The bottom side is in great condition. I can not find any significant rust or damage. There is a dent in the bottom of one of the foot wells but that is about it. The interior is pretty good condition. The seats obviously will need to be recovered at some point. Its a great find. Most are hacked and rusty. It still has its cool under dash tray. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me. I am located in Oregon on the West Coast, so keep in mind the time zone. Joe 541.510.5296 |
