Description of 1980 Fiat 124 Spider |
Selling a beautiful 1980 Fiat Spider. Lots of care and love and maintenance has been given to this car over the years.Car was originally from California and owned by a Fiat enthusiast. It then made its way to the east coast under the ownership of a Fiat/Alfa Romeo mechanic who owned it for the past 20 years. He kept the car in great condition and street legal during those years. Included is a large packet of paperwork, showing over $5,000 worth of maintenance, repairs and modifications. This car has been loved and well maintained throughout the years. It currently is in great condition both mechanically and cosmetically. Body is in great shape and very straight. No body damage or dents. Few small rust sports that have been treated with a rust converter that stops the spread of rust (see pictures).Newer paint job looks great - seems to be original factory spec color - looks like a metallic grey/green. Frame appears solid, no major rust on the undercarriage. Interior is in great shape, no major rips or tears in upholstery or carpets. Very clean. All electronics seem to work, except turn signals/headlights may need some adjustments or new bulbs.Aftermarket radio with head unit and speakers. Needs the horn hooked up. Wipers work but a little slow.Cluster was replaced and milage reads 23k, tmu but should be just under 100k or so. Engine sounds great and healthy. Fires right up at the first turn of the key - no need for any throttle when starting.Tranny and clutch are in great shape. Shifts effortlessly through every gear. No grinding or slipping.Reverse is sometimes tricky to get into. Doesn't seem to burn oil or smoke.Suspension is very tight and comfortable. Corners like it is on rails. Really feels like the Italian sports car it was made to be.Extremely fun to drive around the neighborhood, back roads or on the highway.Brakes work good (including e-brake). Roll bar installed for extra safety. Newer vinyl top closes easily. Aftermarket sounds system.Tires and wheels are in great shape. Engine and exhaust sound good. Car is in great shape for its age. Drive a classic Italian sports car, styled by Pininfarina. These cars only appreciate in value as the years go on. This one is a ton of fun to drive and doesn't break the bank like most Italian sports cars.
