1977 Fiat 124 Spider White / Black Steel Wheels & Chrome Hubcaps Excellent Project SEE VIDEO WITH LISTING VIN: 124CS10122323 Evolve Motors and Chicago Car Club are pleased to present this 1977 Fiat 124 Spider! This ‘77 124, while in pretty nice shape inside and out, is a non-runner. We purchased the car with the intent to drop a rebuilt motor in it, but other projects have since come up and now the Fiat has been put on the back burner. And it’s too bad, because the car really does clean up nicely and has a ton of potential. We are now presenting this car as a project car that will need some mechanical tending-to. The motor does turn freely, but when it last ran (Summer 2017) there was a significant rod-knock noise. There is some sort of rod/valve related issue that will need to be addressed. Exterior: - Black convertible top is in excellent shape. Close to new. - White is the original color (paint code 212), and a paint gauge shows readings of 9-10 all around, consistent with one respray. Paint has its fair share of blemishes, the most glaring being a few blotches on the forward portion of the hood and driver front fender. Please watch the video that accompanies the listing, as every cosmetic blemish on the car is shown close-up. - Chrome hubs and steel wheels look great. - Small ding on passenger rear quarter (again, see video). Aside from that, the body is nice and straight. - Weatherstripping is in great shape, as is most of the chrome. There is some oxidation on the passenger side of the rear bumper. - Glass and light lenses are all clear and crack free. Interior: - Black vinyl seats are in nice shape. - Red carpeting is pretty faded but not torn up. - Vinyl “wood” dash face is free of cracks. The upper portion has some faults though, including a tear above the glovebox and a big crack above the gauge cluster. - Rear seats are in nice shape. - Odometer reads 34,768. True mileage unknown. Mechanical: - 5spd manual, as opposed to 4spd - Engine # 132A10316. 1756cc DOHC inline-4. - Underbody is in nice shape. There is surface rust on some suspension components, particularly up front, but no through rust or anything close to it. Frame, rockers, and floors are nice and solid.
